Operations Manager

PRIMARY FUNCTION

Eaton Aerospace Group located in Los Angeles, CA has an opening for an Operations Manager.

This position is responsible for leading assembly and test operations including, shipping and receiving with output in excess of $150M+ annually and leadership for salaried and hourly employees.

This role drives continuous improvements in production, quality, and safety through the framework of the Eaton Business System (EBS).

The Operations Manager champions the application of BOS, lean, employee involvement, and teamwork.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Champion a Safety Culture through using MESH tools and safety best practices
  • Provide leadership in commitment in strategic use of Eaton Business System practices, personally leading the use and documentation of MESH, ELSS, EQMS and ProLaunch,
  • Responsible for operational performance indicators.

    Takes appropriate actions to ensure safety, quality, schedule, and cost goals are met.

    Manage the processes to track and understand key operational metrics and develop strategies and action plans to improve operational performance.

    Facilitate daily Tier 3 Meetings to drive long-term process/metric improvements leveraging EBS Pull framework

  • Responsible for creating and executing the profit plan for assigned value stream, including labor and resource planning, managing material and support costs, and future forecast to deliver upon financial commitments.
  • Ensures required documentation and/or system transactions are executed to meet customer, manufacturing systems, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Responsible for building the organizational capability of the Supervisors through coaching, mentoring, and training of the Team Leads and Team Members.

    Utilizes the Talent Hub process to manage their performances.

  • Increase employee engagement and accountability to create a high performing culture
  • Maintain conformity to ITAR requirements
  • Achieve labor productivity, reduction of overtime and lead cost reduction efforts to drive factory cost out
  • Manage site capital planning and execution processes.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to establish processes to improve first pass yield

Qualifications

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience of operations/manufacturing environment
  • Minimum 2 years of leadership experience in a manager of people role
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

– Bachelor’s degree required in business or related field

• Master’s Degree preferred
• 1+ years experience leading exempt and non-exempt employees.

• Aerospace experience a plus
• Industry 4.0 knowledge preferred
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts and tool sets
• Understanding of manufacturing technologies and processes
• Ability to direct and lead cross-functional process improvement teams
• Ability to multi-task and work under pressure and deadlines
• MFG Pro Knowledge
• Ability to quickly analyze, identify and implement opportunities and corporate initiatives for improvement that have measurable dollar impact each year
• Customer oriented
