Care’s mission is to provide access to quality health care for Los Angeles County’s vulnerable and low-income communities and residents and to support the safety net required to achieve that purpose.Job SummaryThe Operations Manager is a self-motivated, out-of-the-box, critical thinker, who is able to execute consistently in daily operations. This position is responsible for supporting the Chief Operating Officer (COO), and providing leadership within the Office of the COO in the execution of a wide-variety of organizational initiatives, by monitoring activities and performance trends, developing and managing operations-specific cost center budgets, and other executive obligations. Monitors operational activities, trends and timelines, communication, and coordination of Operations. The Operations Manager monitors and helps the COO manage key internal and external activities, timelines and obligations. The Operations Manager is responsible for reviewing materials and requests and helping the COO determine actions and follow through. The Operations Manager is responsible preparing and reviewing reports, memos, and correspondence for Board of Governors meetings, internal and external committee meetings, L.A. Care leadership, external business associates and other purposes. The Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring the COO is well prepared to attend meetings and other functions. In conjunction with the Communications and Marketing Department, the Operations Manager is responsible for preparing and reviewing talking points for the COO presentations and related audio visual materials. The Operations Manager may stand-in for COO at committee meetings.DutiesDevelop, maintain, and manage a standardized framework to monitor operational activities, trends and timelines, communication, and coordination of Operations. Provide content-specific information management for the COO and the Office of the COO.Prepare and review reports, memos, correspondence and presentations as requested.Partner with the business leaders across all functional and line of business (LOB) business units to communicate the priorities of the COO and provide feedback or follow-ups to key staff members.Attend internal and external committee meetings.Perform other duties as assigned.Education RequiredBachelor’s DegreeIn lieu of degree, equivalent education and/or experience may be considered.Education PreferredExperienceRequired:A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated successful project management experience.SkillsRequired:Demonstration of both qualitative and quantitative analytical skills.Proven ability to work with a diverse group of people, including Executive and Senior Leadership within and outside of L.A.
