Our employees are not only part of history, they’re making history.Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is currently seeking a Principal Material Program Manager (Supply Chain Planning Specialist 3) specifically in support of our proposal efforts within Global Supply Chain in Northridge, CA.Job Description: The Material Program Manager (MPM) is a strong leader with demonstrated project management and supply chain management skills.

The ideal candidate will be able to function with minimal supervision as a liaison for assigned program proposal efforts in support of proposal generation and other Supply Chain Management activities including creation of Basis of Estimates, Cost/Pricing data and Negotiation efforts.Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):Establish/negotiate material budgets to support program requirementsSupport Program financial positioning and planning as it pertains to materialResponsible creating Supply Chain Management labor BOEsAct as proposal coordinator for responses to external customers, organizing a compliance matrix and due dates for assigned deliverables, formatting and submitting final proposalsSupport Proposal Managers in the development of larger proposals with varied content supportMaintain clear and effective communication with the Program Office and internal customers including Quality, Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Contracts Support total supply chain execution for assigned program(s) from proposal through product delivery Responsible for preparing and executing Material Program Plans (MPPs)Analyze supply/demand position for Purchase (Buy) materials using Material Requirements Planning (MRP) tools.Assist with maintenance of standard proposal templates and support the creation of new, reusable materialsIdentify, present, and mitigate program risks as they pertain to material requirementsMeet company and customer requirements by providing the linkage between customer, subcontractor, program management and internal support functionsDrive timely and clearly communicated program decisions and recommendationsCreate graphics, charts, and slide decks for bid packages, basis of estimates, and other presentations as requiredEnsure program-wide focus on safety, reliability, cost, and schedule and adequacy of systems, procedures, people and selection of companies (companies, strategic partners) for long term successChallenge business impediments to excellence and continuous improvementDrive data based decision making and maintain historical record for auditing purposesUnderstand basic technical knowledge of the assigned program(s)Qualifications for Success:Exercise influence and lead others in a fast paced and dynamic environmentCommunicate clearly, and excel in follow-up and task completionBalance strategic thinking with tactical application to support program executionProven leadership skills and experience managing multiple projects from inception to completionAbility to make independent decisions while maintaining a self-starter mentalityBe a detail-oriented, team playerCapable of multi-tasking and able to work extended hours as necessaryAbility to be flexible, innovative, and work effectively with speed and agility to drive projects and tasks to completion #NGSkillsRelocation, while not guaranteed, may be available for this position.Basic Qualifications:High school diploma/GED AND a minimum of ten (10) years of supply chain planning experience; OR a Bachelor’s degree and six (6) years supply chain planning experience; OR a Master’s degree and four (4) years supply chain planning experienceMust be able to obtain and maintain a US Government issued Secret clearance; US citizenship is requiredDemonstrate effective written and verbal communication skillsComfort in presenting to both peers and leadershipMust be willing and able to travel domestic and internationally as requiredStrong Program and Budget Management skillsIntermediate user with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and VisioPreferred Qualifications:Experience leading and support prime proposal effortsMaterial Program Management and/or Supply Chain Management experience working on prime defense programsDeltek Costpoint experienceCertified Professional in Supply Chain Management (CPSM)Project Management Professional (PMP) CertificationUnderstanding of Government Procurement processes and regulationsBachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Accounting, Finance, Economics or BusinessLean and Six Sigma Training and/or CertificationSalary Range: 83600 125400Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.

Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.

Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
