The National Field Reimbursement Director (NFRD) is a field-based leadership role supporting the market access and patient support services strategy for the Aimmune family of products across the branded business units.
This role is responsible for optimizing brand strategies through leadership of the field reimbursement team including 2 Field Reimbursement -Area Managers (FR-AM) and 18 Field Reimbursement Managers (FRM).
The NFRD reports to the Senior Director of Patient Support Services.
This individual will have a working knowledge of the U.S.
payer landscape and stay abreast of any changes to health care policy effecting the Aimmune brands.
The NFRD will be expected to maintain general knowledge of key local, regional, and national payer policies and ensure that FR-AMs demonstrate the same.
The ideal candidate will possess documented success of leading teams that understand government and commercial payers, prior authorization, appeals and exceptions processes, HUB support and field operations.
This individual will need to have a strong ability to manage complexity and work in a dynamic, fast-paced business environment.
As a senior leader the NFRD will partner across the organization including commercial field teams, market access, marketing, medical, operations and legal and compliance to execute short term initiatives and long-term strategies to achieve corporate goals.
Finally, the NFRD will partner with key external organizations to build meaningful relationships to understand and influence meaningful initiatives.
Specific Responsibilities:
• Effectively lead and coach the first line leadership team to execute against access performance metrics for the individual brand teams.
• Empower and develop front line leaders to optimize brand strategies through coaching and performance management.
• Work closely with Commercial Field, Market Access, and Marketing leadership to develop strategies that support access and coverage needs of key accounts and broader brand strategies.
• Routinely assess current and future team needs and competencies as product portfolios evolve.
• Monitor national Commercial, Medicare and Medicaid communications on coverage, coding and payment policy and potential policy changes that may impact team strategies and brand/corporate objectives.
• Consistently maintain and nurture key partnerships across the broader organization to include commercial field teams, market access, marketing, medical, operations and legal and compliance.
• Develop and maintain a relevant network of decision makers and opinion leaders in the field of reimbursement policy and appropriate clinical practice to help develop key insights that support brand strategies.
• Prioritize and focus team efforts across stakeholders to maximize opportunities, share customer insights and aid the team in obtaining and allocating resources.
• Lead and guide the reimbursement area management team in developing and executing regional and territory account plans in cooperation with relevant functions (Sales, Marketing and Pricing)
• Incorporate knowledge of dynamic and complex marketplace and business trends to deliver maximum access to the portfolio of Aimmune products.
• Provide key insights and strategies for launch and acquisition products.
Qualifications / Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s Degree preferred.
• 5+ years’ experience in field reimbursement leadership positions in the pharmaceutical/biotech or related industry OR 7+ years combined leadership in field reimbursement, managed care , complex product sales or account management in specialty markets.
• Demonstrated success leading cross functional and project teams.
• Extensive knowledge of coding, billing, and the Market Access landscape is preferred.
• Previous Allergy and GI experience a plus.
• Experience working with both Community and Hospital based practices is required.
