Job TitleManaging Director – WestcoastJob Description SummaryIdeally this person will be based on the Westcoast in Los Angeles, San Francisco or San Diego to build our Westcoast team. Working on multiple engagements, the role of the Managing Director is to promote and secure new business; negotiate new work contracts; then, lead the team through formulating the high level strategy, goals and overall structure of each project As a team leader, the Managing Director will direct, mentor and coach all team members to ensure the success of each team project. The Managing Director will generate then sell new and innovative service line tools, models, and intellectual property material and will speak at public and educational engagements to expand service line awareness, generate client contracts, and increase group profitabilityJob DescriptionOversee client project from initial pitch, contract negotiation, scope definition and, delivery Educate and teach team members so they can effectively execute each step of the project processDevelop creative strategic and analytical framework for multiple projects, identify and resolve analytical challenges Teach analytical modeling to team members so that they can correctly complete the analysesIdentify and proactively diagnose client issuesReview the team”s real estate models and quantitative projections as they relate to ultimate strategic client recommendationsUse superior written, verbal communication and, presentation skills to effectively influence Executive clients, gaining their buy-in and supportLead team sales presentationsLead the training, coaching and development of team members Actively attract candidates and lead team recruitment and development initiativesActing as primary team contact for executive client members, build effective long term client relationships to help the team meet or exceed client needsDrive project contract negotiations, final pricing and allocation of resourcesDefine project strategy and develop project final goalsOversee management of multiple clients and ensure all client expectations are metEnsure all project timeline risks are appropriately addressedDelegate and assign project work when necessaryDesign and price new services for existing and potential clients to support the service line sales goalsDrive new business through a strong, established, professional networkActively expand service line in to new markets through public speaking engagements and educational eventsDevelop marketing and training materials, white papers, and industry reportsDevelop new industry tools, technology, and models to be applied to current and future projects25-50%%%% travelKNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCEBachelors degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field; Masters degree preferred12+ years progressive consulting experience preferredunderstanding of commercial real estate practicesDemonstrated leadership skills, presentation skills, and boardroom presence skillsSuperior economic, financial, and quantitative problem solving skillsSuperior understanding of business concepts and the ability to creatively apply these to varying client needsKnowledge of spreadsheet and presentation software including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)Superior relationship building, communication, and client management skillsability and drive to be proactive, resourceful and, to think outside of the box with no supervision; go out of the way to be cooperative and get the work done smoothly and create an outstanding impressionExceptional time management and organizational skills; able to balance multiple priorities and projectsCushman & Wakefield provides equal employment opportunity.
