Job DescriptionPosition Summary

Reporting to the Associate Vice President, Talent & Culture, the Manager, Talent and Culture (HRBP) will run the daily HR functions for various business units and properties, including employee relations, performance management and talent development. The HR Business Partner (HRBP) position is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management in designated business units. The HRBP maintains an effective level of business literacy about the business unit’s financial position, its midrange plans, and its culture. The position establishes strong partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization. The Manager, Talent & Culture serves as a strong thought-partner and advisor to the AVP, Talent and Culture, provides broad support to the HR team, and helps to ensure the proper operations of the HR department. Employee Relations

Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations. Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff. Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions). Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations. Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations. Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices. HR Business Partner

Oversee a business portfolio of corporate divisions and properties, serving as the primary HR Business Partner. Conducts regular meetings with respective business units. Consults with line management, providing HR guidance when appropriate. Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs and policies. Meets regularly with business unit heads/regional managers. Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention. Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation. Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning. Identifies business units training needs and individual coaching needs. Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law. Works closely with the Manager of Talent Operations and the Manager of Recruitment and Staffing to ensure a seamless onboarding process for new employees. In close association with the Manager of Recruitment and Staffing and the Human Capital Committee, oversee and execute a Bi-Monthly New Hire Orientation (NHO). In close association with AVP, provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning. Identifies training needs for business units and individual coaching needs. Participates in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success. Follows up to ensure training objectives are met. HR Operations and Training

Support the onboarding, training, and orientation of new staff, including temporary staff, internships, etc. Coordinate and collaborate with HR and relevant departments with the offboarding of exiting staff. Continually review and assess HR workflows and processes to ensure managers and employees experience excellent customer service from the HR team/department Other

Serves as backup to Manager of Talent Operations and Manager, Recruitment and Staffing. Special projects as designated by AVP, Talent and Culture or designee Qualifications

4+ years of related HR experience required. PHR or SHRM-CP certified preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Proficient with HRIS systems-Paycom a plus. Bilingual English/Spanish highly preferred. Ability to travel and commute to multiple sites. Additional InformationCompensation and Benefits

The target annualized salary range for this role is $80,000 – $ 90,000; offers are commensurate with the education and experience of the finalist. Additionally, a full benefits package is offered which includes: health, dental and vision insurance, long term disability insurance, 401K plan, paid vacation and sick leave benefits. Abode Communities’ corporate staff work on a 9/80 schedule allowing for every other Friday off.
