The US FX International Payments (FXIP) business is a fast-growing non-Card B2B payments business within US SME and Global Commercial Services.

Today, we facilitate transactions totaling over $13B for over 10K customers.

Our customers use our platform to manage their global, non-card payments for goods and services and for inter-company funding across industries such as retail, wholesale, professional services, charities, and manufacturing.

FXIP is a high growth business with key objectives of enhancing value to Commercial customers while driving revenue and profitability growth. 

The Manager of FXIP Sales Development is an individual contributor and consummate sales professional.

The successful sales manager will achieve their goals by building a robust pipeline through 1) developing deep relationships with our Field Card acquisition/ expansion sales team 2) executing a consultative sales approach 3) understanding our solutions and proficiently articulating them to your prospects.

This is a regionally based individual contributor sales role within the US SME Specialty organization. 

Job responsibilities:

  • Drive additional revenue by uncovering Foreign Exchange and International Payments opportunities
  • Expected to take a consultative sales approach with each prospect: Discover cross-border FX and Premium Wire business opportunities, create a solution surrounding our products, and back our customers through the first 13 months of transactions
  • Manage partner relationships to drive and deliver on prospect goals
  • Saturate each prospect referral with high urgency
  • Achieve product specific revenue targets
  • Sell with integrity and appropriately tracks prospect data to ensure a coordinated and consistent client experience, in alignment with regulatory, compliance and internal partner business requirements
  • Demonstrating value
    • Effectively communicate the value of partnering with American Express for Domestic and Global Payments
    • Exceptional phone, face-to-face, video conferencing and written sales skill set
  • Closing
    • Gains a commitment from the client to move forward by asking for the business and successfully managing objections
    • Overcomes objections and resistance to proposed solutions with key client decision makers and mobilizes them to action

    • Co-manages a pipeline of opportunities, leveraging client data/analytics to plan and prioritize activities within large portfolios
    • Leverages lead sources to identify opportunities and schedule prospect appointments with urgency
  • Consultative selling
    • Effectively identifies client needs to configure solutions that address client requirements and deliver value
    • Positions products and services to meet specific client needs and solicits feedback about the value of proposed solutions
  • Market, industry, & product knowledge
    • Take personal accountability for becoming a Global payments subject matter expert
    • Understands at a tactical level market/industry key competitors, challenges, terminology, technology, trends, and regulation
