Reports To: Restaurant Manager

Summary:

Shibumi will be opening our newest venture, Kushiba, in Echo Park.

The Kitchen Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, including overseeing food preparation, managing inventory, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. The Kitchen Manager must also be able to motivate and lead a team of kitchen staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the preparation and cooking of food in accordance with recipes, menus, and food safety regulations.
  • Manage the kitchen staff, including scheduling shifts, training, and performance reviews.
  • Order and maintain food and inventory levels.
  • Ensure the kitchen is clean and sanitary in accordance with health department regulations.
  • Prepare reports on kitchen operations, including food costs and labor hours.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of new menu items.
  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience in a kitchen management role.
  • Strong culinary skills and knowledge of food safety regulations.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
