Summary:

Instagram is where creators and young people come to push culture forward.

As part of the Instagram Internal Communications Team, you will be responsible for developing and executing the global internal communications strategy for our diverse, creative, high energy, close knit organization.

You will serve as a key counselor to Facebook company executives as we work to tell powerful stories about Instagram to our internal audiences
– building moral, articulating app and company-wide strategy, building confidence and trust in leadership, and helping to make Instagram stronger for the one billion people who use it around the world by supporting our internal teams.

We are looking for someone who excels at working collaboratively, is fiercely creative, obsessed with delivering high-quality work, and who truly loves Instagram.

Candidates should be experienced communications strategists (both developing and executing), creative writers (we are not about the corporate style here), confident communicators, and fun!

We are looking for someone who has deep experience leading proactive internal communications programming, managing cross-functional projects and teams, influencing and driving alignment across stakeholder groups and executives, and telling complex stories in a simple and compelling way.

Required Skills:

Develop and execute communication initiatives in partnership with teams across the Instagram organization.

Provide proactive and reactive messaging that supports key initiatives and program rollouts.

Understand the unique needs of product, engineering, and business teams (goals, products, tools, process) in order to produce effective and relevant communication strategies.

Consult with leadership on their communication and change management strategies.

Write and develop messaging around various topics, including company strategy, priorities, product launches and announcements.

Identify opportunities to share organization milestones with the broader company audience.

Coordinate with cross-functional teams to implement consistent messaging across the organization.

Partner closely with other internal and external communications teams as well as HR to align on communication opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years professional experience working in internal communications, corporate communications, political campaigns, or nonprofit mission-driven communications.

Experience counseling and influencing executives.

Experience producing content for internal audiences at varying levels across and organization.

Experience turning complex information into relevant, engaging, timely and valuable content.

Experience with managing multiple projects simultaneously and to work autonomously including managing in-person events.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in public relations, branding and campaigns.

Experience communicating to an employee population of technologists and engineers.

Experience in the technology industry.

Experience leading internal communications campaigns and programming.
