STAY Zero Proof Lounge, L.A.’s pioneering new non-alcoholic bar, located in Chinatown, is actively seeking an experienced General Manager to steer our operations. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead and shape a revolutionary establishment in the beverage industry, showcasing exceptional non-alcoholic offerings and plant-based snacks.
- Walk, climb stairs, stretch and lift, and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Fluency to speak, read, and write in English. Other languages are a plus.
This is a full-time exempt position and requires a full-time commitment working on the busiest evenings including Fridays and Saturdays
- Work assigned shifts as determined by ownership, ensuring smooth and efficient daily operations.
- Assist ownership in developing and streamlining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to optimize efficiency and enhance customer experience.
- Supervise bar personnel, sharing responsibility for recruiting, interviewing, hiring, discipline, performance reviews, and initiating pay increases in collaboration with the management team.
- Collaborate with ownership to perform weekly and monthly administrative duties as required.
- Actively participate in weekly management meetings, providing valuable insights and contributing to strategic decision-making.
- Assist ownership in staff training, management, and coordination of all bar-related activities, including private events.
- Support ownership in payroll management and cost analysis related to bar labor.
- Contribute to the creation of comprehensive bar program training materials and reference guides for all staff.
- Obtain all necessary manager’s licenses (health) if not already in possession of valid ones.
- Achieve projected sales and controllable costs including food, beverage, labor, and other controllables.
- Ensure proper safety and sanitation practices behind bars, food prep, and service areas, maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Ensure all team members are electronically onboarded and personnel files are up to date.
- Ensure all management and staff have required food management certifications, and food handler cards
- Promote and represent STAY through social media and other marketing channels, actively engaging with the community.
- Keep abreast of any current or future competitors and appropriate food trends.
- Participate in planning and executing special events and media-related initiatives, ensuring the successful execution of promotional activities.
- Dedicate efforts to enhance the overall success of STAY, taking on additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Proven managerial experience and references in the food and beverage industry, preferably in a craft cocktail bar or high-end restaurant.
- Strong background in staff supervision, training, and management, with a focus on exceptional customer service.
- Track record of establishing and maintaining a warm, upbeat, enthusiastic culture.
- Familiarity with SOP development and implementation, ensuring operational efficiency and adherence to high-quality standards.
- Proficiency in payroll management and cost analysis related to bar labor.
- Excellent organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and leadership abilities, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Passion for non-alcoholic beverages and a commitment to providing outstanding customer experiences in a zero-proof lounge setting.
