Job Title: General Manager

Job Type: Full-time, exempt position

Reports to: Operations Team, Ownership

Job Summary:

The General Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations of both Townhouse and Del Monte venues. The role requires the candidate to have a clear understanding of California labor laws, basic POS operations, and proficiency in Microsoft Office/Google Workspace. The candidate should have a deep understanding of how a venue operates in its most essential form – staff and guest relations. The General Manager will manage managers and employees through proactive assistance, not micromanagement.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Programming

  • Create and update a monthly calendar with dates and details for Wednesday-Sunday programming
  • Send out a weekly e-mail with Advance Production details and contact info
  • Liaison during the event, ensuring they have everything they need, i.e., drink tickets, water, etc.
  • Respond to all correspondence and questions from the booking of the event through the night of (Phone calls, texts, e-mails, meetings)

Overseeing Bar Staff

  • Weekly scheduling of Bar staff and security personnel 
  • Respond and handle all correspondence and questions via (Phone calls, texts, e-mails, meetings) Including but not limited to call-outs, scheduling issues, personal issues, requests, grievances, disciplinary conversations, assistance in payroll corrections, onboarding, no-shows, time-off requests & sick/sick pay communications

Social Media

  • Work closely with the marketing team for social media related tasks

Bar/Office Financial and Administrative Housekeeping

  • Assist in deposits
  • Get/organize change($) every Monday
  • Handle disputes/chargebacks
  • Order any needed bar accouterments, i.e., paper clips, rubber bands, pens, stamps, wristbands, receipt paper, menus, coasters, security pins, etc.
  • Order office supplies and paper order for 52/58 Windward as a whole
  • Check and respond to inquiries from our << removed email >> e-mail
  • Check our voicemail for our TH office phone
  • Collect TH invoices to scan and send to accounting
  • File said invoices
  • Handle special projects, meetings, and appointments
  • Lead Staff Meetings

Property Overviews the Location

  • Updates or repairs to the following: Electrical, gas, lights, locks, codes, health inspection rules + areas, maintenance, overall cleanliness and organization

HR

  • Onboarding, training & hiring, employee development, documentation, performance notes, location policies and updates

Service

  • Scheduling, staffing, POS, positions open/mid/close duties

Ordering(weekly)

  • Beverage, paper & plastic, catering/off-site products, propane

Ordering(Monthly CGS)

  • Glassware, bar equipment, reusable items

Required skills and qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a General Manager or similar executive leadership role in the hospitality industry, with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience.
  • Strong knowledge of California labor laws, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic POS operations.
  • Experience with event a management and programming is a plus
  • Experience with overseeing bar staff, including scheduling, handling correspondence and requests, and ordering necessary supplies.
  • Experience with financial and administrative tasks, such as making deposits, handling disputes, ordering supplies, and managing inventory.
  • Experience with property management, including overseeing maintenance, cleanliness, and organization.
  • Experience with HR tasks, including onboarding, training, employee development, and documentation.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage managers and employees proactively and assist with problem-solving when necessary.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise with various stakeholders, including performers, sound engineers, bar staff, and ownership.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed.

These qualifications will enable the General Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of Townhouse & Del Monte, ensuring high-quality service, successful programming, and smooth administrative processes.
