Role Responsibilities
Lead the development of a comprehensive project safety plan for tusimple, coordinate with tusimple’s partners (e.g.

vehicle manufacturer, component suppliers) and align with their project plans.
Work with team members (e.g.

Engineering Quality Management) to develop ISO 26262 Supporting Process Procedures, Instructions, and defining meaningful record collection strategies.
Support the development of the ISO 26262 work products defined by the safety standards to prove compliance of the Safety Case.
Define the work packages required for compliance with the safety standards (ISO 26262, ISO 21448, UL4600) and ensure adequate staffing for the project.
Align with the program managers on the project safety plan in relation with the program timeline and deliverables.
Lead the development of a comprehensive safety case based on UL 4600.
Lead the development of a comprehensive safety process with alignment to internal disciplinary processes and external processes.

Root Cause and Corrective Action analysis

Experience & Skills Required
Hold a B.S.

or higher degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
10 years of relevant experience.
Experience working with suppliers and OEMs regarding safety analysis and requirements
hands-on experience with ISO 26262 from concept phase to production.
hands-on experience with ISO 21448 (SOTIF) from concept phase to production.
strong knowledge in UL 4600.
hands-on experience in developing a project safety plan according to ISO 26262-2:2018.
hands-on experience in developing a safety case and defending it in production programs.
hands-on experience with working in autonomous driving technology.
Understanding of software quality concepts and processes (ASPICE)
strong knowledge in operating systems: ROS (robot operating system), QNX, APIX.AI
Familiarity with computer system architecture, microprocessor, and microcontroller fundamentals (caches, buses, memory controllers, DMA, etc.), and supporting electronic circuits
strong knowledge in compute platforms (e.g.

nvidia)
Understand of software simulation, validating software functions, and software safety mechanisms
Understanding of C/C++ and related coding standards (e.g.

Automotive MISRA or similar)
Applied understanding of SOC, AUTOSAR or similar embedded software, algorithms and data structures
Preferred experience with HARA and Functional Safety Concept for a complex safety system.
Preferred experience in creating detailed Hardware Software Interface specifications.

(HSI)
Preferred experience deriving technical safety requirements from the Functional Safety Concepts, Technical Safety Concepts, and System Architecture Design.
Preferred experience in vehicle architectures and software architecture, including safety architectures.
Preferred experience deriving technical safety requirements from the Functional Safety Concepts, Technical Safety Concepts, and System Architecture Design.
Experience with ANSYS Medini Analyse is an added advantage.
