Position Summary:

Location Flexible – Ideal candidate will reside in one of the following locations:
Los Angeles California, San Francisco California, Sacramento California, Salt Lake City Utah and Phoenix Arizona

We are currently seeking a Director to lead Financial Insights / Category & Customer for the West Business Unit.  This role provides visibility to the business unit P&L, leading financial planning, forecasting, and analysis.  This position will also be the primary financial liaison with the business unit customer team, ensuring the revenue forecast is accurate and the trade accrual is adequate.  It is a highly visible role within BBU finance.

Position Summary:

•       Highly visible role and key member of the business unit finance leadership team.

•       Develop and maintain a rolling forecast P&L.  Engage with customer team, commercial finance, supply chain finance, and business unit leadership to provide insightful analysis and support strategic decision making.

•       Lead the development of the annual operating plan, line of sight, and latest estimate forecasts for the business unit.

•       Lead the period close process including communications to BBU finance leadership.  Serve as a liaison between BU finance and HQ finance functions.

•       Lead the creation of all period and quarterly business reviews for the West Business Unit

•       Partner with customer team to understand risks/opportunities in revenue forecast.  Translate forecasts from multiple customer teams into a reliable financial model used to forecast the business unit P&L.

•       Understand customer contracts, promotional activities, and customer deductions.  Own the business unit trade accrual, ensuring expenses are recorded in the proper period.

•       Provide visibility to profitability by customer, brand, and geography.  Investigate business trends and perform variance analysis.

•       Create an atmosphere where people are engaged, rewarded, and share a strong sense of ownership.  Role includes direct leadership of 1 associate and indirect leadership of the BU finance team for financial planning and analysis.

•       Drive continuous improvement through process changes and implementation of new systems and technologies.

•       Develop decision support financial modeling and ad hoc financial analysis for relevant issues impacting the business.

Job Requirements:

Education and Work History:

•       Bachelor’s degree in finance and/or accounting.

•       BA or BS with 10+ years of progressive finance experience – MBA or CPA a plus

•       Effective verbal and written communication skills, ability to interact with senior management.

•       Strong analytical skills, research capabilities and overall business acumen required.

•       Highly motivated self-starter with ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.

•       Strong team building and people development skills and a proven ability to work with a diverse group of people

•       Advanced Microsoft Excel modeling and analysis.  Skilled in Microsoft PowerPoint.

•       Familiarity with Oracle, Hyperion, Essbase or other Financial Software products.  Experience with Power BI a plus.

•       Financial Planning & Analysis experience a plus

•       Consumer packaged goods industry experience a plus.
