FOOD & BEVERAGE SUPERVISOR | MARCO POLO at SILVERLAKE POOL & INN

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Under the general direction of the Food and Beverage Manager this position is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of the front of house Food & Beverage operations. Ensure staff are working together as a team to ensure optimum service and that guest needs are met. Inspect grooming and attire of staff and rectify any deficiencies. Complete opening and closing duties including setting up necessary supplies and tools, cleaning all equipment and areas, locking doors, etc. Inspect storage areas for organization, use of FIFO, and cleanliness. Monitor dining room & pool bar for seating availability, service, safety, and the well-being of guests.

TASKS AT HAND:

  • Oversees the front of house F&B operations on a shift basis.
  • Schedules and supervises team members; verifies time & attendance; assigns shift work assignments; ensures appropriate coverage while minimizing operating costs.
  • Completes shift reports for management and for the next shift, tracks quality and guest issues and reports to management.
  • Performs front line F&B duties as required (Barista, Bartender, Host & Expediter)
  • Liaises and communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments and team members.
  • Develops and cultivates strong working relationships with all stakeholders: guests, management, team members and vendors.
  • Monitor, observe and assist in evaluating team member performance.
  • Support and assist team members in handling guest inquiries and requests and in resolving guest complaints.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol awareness standards.
  • Manage and monitor product quality and service and satisfaction trends, evaluate and address issues and make improvements accordingly.
  • Assist in monitoring inventory and inventory control.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

  • Familiarity with MS Office, Google Apps and other organizational computer tools.
  • Fluency in English both verbal and non-verbal preferred.
  • Provide legible communication and directions.
  • Compute basic arithmetic.
  • Perform job junctions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy.
  • Prioritize, organize, and follow up.
  • Be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment.
  • Follow directions thoroughly and work with minimal supervision.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Requires a flexible schedule and a variety of shifts including holidays & weekends.
  • Current ServSafe Food Handler Certificate Required.
  • Ability to carry up to 40lbs and to walk, stand, and bend continuously.
