APCH provides educational programs, counseling, mentoring, music, dance and art classes, fitness and health and wellness opportunities. Job Title: Facilities Supervisor

Department: Operations

Reports to: Associate Director of Building and Safety Operations

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt-40 hours/week

Direct Reports: Sr. Maintenance Technician & Facilities Assistants

SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Associate Director of Building and Safety Operations, the Facilities Supervisor is responsible for the overall functioning, cleanliness and safety of all indoor and outdoor facilities of APCH. In addition, they will supervise daily maintenance and sanitation activities using the most efficient and economical ways of maintaining the equipment, minimizing downtime and keeping property operations running safely and efficiently.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

Train and supervise maintenance and custodial staff

*
Adequately schedule maintenance and custodial staff based on the needs of APCH

*
Supervise vendors (i.e. night custodial crew, contractors, etc) to ensure quality and completion of services as per scope and contractual obligations

*
Supervise and coordinate the day-to-day maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds, and associated equipment.

*
Track service requests and ensure timely completion within established timelines and quality standards.

*
Schedule and ensure completion of preventative maintenance

*
Ensure cleanliness and orderliness of facilities

*
Maintain and prepare reports and/or maintenance records (i.e. contracts, permits, etc.)

*
Estimate the time and materials required for operational maintenance and/or custodial work and schedule assignments accordingly

*
Supervise assigned volunteers

*
Provide feedback and recommendations to AD of Building and Safety Ops and appropriate parties regarding safety and compliance issues as related to facilities

*
Oversee scheduling and execution of set up and break down for internal and external meetings, programs and events

*
Report on and assist AD of Building and Safety Ops in responding to and investigating accidents, near miss situations, and equipment and facility integrity issues

*
Supplement APCH’s outside IT services consultant as needed; break down and set up computers, printers and accessories

*
Assist in distribution and inventory of keys as requested by AD of Building and Safety Ops

*
Understand functionality of security and fire alarms; respond to alarms, troubleshoot and liaison with emergency responders and monitoring companies in absence of Safety, Security & Hospitality Lead and or AD of Building and Safety Ops

*
Initiate all purchase requests for all cleaning, repair and maintenance supplies to keep stock items available at all times

*
Submit any and all receipts and invoices within 72 hours to AD of Building and Safety Ops and or Office Manager for reconciliation

*
Report any safety concerns to the Director of Building and Safety Ops immediately

*
Operate and train others to operate tools, equipment, and machinery according to prescribed safety procedures

*
Move inventory to various locations manually by operating a pallet jack and handcart

*
Load and unload delivery vehicles by hand, with forklift, or with pallet jack

*
Support transportation department with in-kind donation pick-ups as scheduled (Monday – Friday)

*
Take an interest and initiative in the development of the facilities team

*
Maintain compliance with established safety policies (OSHA & Local Ordinances), procedures, and certification requirements

*
Support the Safety, Security & Hospitality department in conducting safety drills (fire, earthquake, etc)

*
Attend all required meetings (Touchpoint, Staff Development, Departmental etc.)

*
Adhere to the highest ethical and professional standards and values at all times

*
Other duties may be assigned including but not limited to working in other areas of the maintenance department to provide support during absences or shortage of staff in other trades or to perform duties associated with construction projects.

Education/Training/ Experience

HS Diploma or Equivalent

Knowledge and understanding of OSHA and other safety compliance guidelines

Basic knowledge and ability to troubleshoot electrical and plumbing issues

Bilingual English/Spanish Highly Preferred

*
2-3 years in facilities (commercial) management

*
2 years supervising employees

*
Must possess a valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record
