USC Keck School of Medicine seeks to recruit a talented and experienced advancement professional for the position of Executive Director of Development, Stem Cell.
The Executive Director, Stem Cell leads all aspects of campaign fundraising for regenerative medicine, across USC but with a focus on USC Stem Cell.
This position reports to Senior Associate Vice President, Health Science Advancement and w ork s closely with the Center Director and focused on raising principal gifts towards the campaign, managing a portfolio of high net worth prospects and being a key team player in the campaign.

Specifically, the Executive Director will:
Focus on raising principal gifts towards the campaign and managing a portfolio of high net worth prospects and being a key team plyer in the campaign.
Assess the existing program and design a path forward to bring annual fundraising outcomes to $30M+ in the next 2-3 years.
Serve as a key advancement advisor to the directors of USC Stem Cell and also as a member of the Keck Advancement leadership team.
Represent the supporting functional areas at various cultivation and fundraising events, working in tandem with the Directors of functional areas in support.
Oversee the USC Stem Cell Director’s Leadership Council.
Manage the advancement budget assigned to the functional areas in support.
Ensure USC Advancement protocols are followed in all aspects of the donor process, including gift processing and acknowledgment, prospecting, soliciting, and stewarding.
In conjunction with the donor relations team, create written reports for donors and updates for faculty, craft acknowledgement letters, and respond to requests from faculty, donors and advancement colleagues.
Partner with clinical and research faculty to build the prospect base and cultivate donors.
As part of engagement efforts, initiate appropriate contact and develop meaningful and effective development events for donors and prospective donors to showcase unique opportunities for support.
Track progress and results in Salesforce, the USC Advancement database, following USC’s prospect management guidelines.

This is a high-profile leadership role that requires a professional with excellent verbal and written communication, an entrepreneurial thinker and a problem solver.
Applicants must possess strong relationship management skills.
Familiarity working with faculty, top executives and community leaders desired.
Applicants should be accustomed to and comfortable with receiving and applying feedback and advice to improve performance.
Additionally, applicants should be able to demonstrate a history of success in their prior field/position, with special focus on success in designing, implementing, and administering innovative programs that require creative solutions and energized problem-solving approaches within the fundraising arena.
Required Education : Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree preferred or equivalent experience
Minimum Experience : A minimum of 7 years of major campaign, fundraising, and/or senior volunteer group management experience.
Minimum Field of Expertise : 10 years of fundraising experience in higher education with preference given to candidates who possess development experience in academic medicine.
