As an integral member of the ESG Center of Excellence (COE), the ESG Technical Director is the internal and external expert for existing and proposed regulations, reporting and attestation standards.

This individual will actively engage with standard setters while monitoring the evolution and changes within the investor, competitor and regulatory landscape.

They will also manage internal and external ESG learning and be a liaison globally.

Qualifications

Education

– Bachelor’s degree required; focus in Business Administration or equivalent preferred

Experience

– Fifteen (15) or more years of total experience in the delivery of professional services required

– Significant prior experience in Environmental Social and Governance, Diversity Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) and Corporate and Social Responsibility (CSR) required

– Specific experience in analyzing, assessing and consulting on the complex ESG landscape of technical rules, regulations, reporting and attestation required

– Significant audit experience, including the audit of public companies required

– Completion of a National Office rotation at a Nationally recognized CPA Firm is preferred

License(s)/Certification(s)

– CPA, preferred

Software

– ESG Software Application Software experience, preferred

Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

– Deep subject matter expertise in the complex ESG landscape of technical rules, regulations, reporting and attestation

– Deep knowledge of the reporting mechanisms deployed by public companies (Integrated Financial Reporting, 10Ks and 10Qs, Press Releases, Sustainability Reports, Transparency Reports)

– Ability to understand/analyze external drivers, set strategic priorities, and drive creative and effective strategies to achieve ESG services solutions objectives

– Thorough understanding of evolving geopolitical, environmental sustainability, social impact and social justice issues and the role corporations must play

– Proven leadership skills, including but not limited to the demonstrated ability to encourage, build consensus, and work collaboratively across all functions and at all levels of a global organization.

– Experience working with senior leadership and key stakeholders to drive forward critical strategic initiatives

– Strong problem-solving skills and ability to impart knowledge on a consultative basis to client service teams
