Job Summary
Under the general direction of Sr. Director, Academic Computing, the Educational Technology Specialist ( ETS ) provides comprehensive support services to the faculty, staff, and students utilizing classroom technology, and supports events and conferences. This includes physical A/V support in classrooms, computer labs, and meeting rooms across campus, and virtual support of hybrid and remote instruction as needed. Collaborates with Information Technology, Library, and other university partners to provide, manage and evaluate education technology services.
Essential Duties

  • Assisting users with classroom capture and conference room equipment, including operating, set-up, and monitoring of cameras and microphones.
  • Assisting with presentation software and projection equipment. Set up and test video conferences via Zoom or other services.
  • Manages support tickets assigned in the IT helpdesk system.
  • Develops training materials and delivers workshops on LMS technology.
  • Provides training and support on the use of LMS and other educational technology equipment and programs to students and faculty on campus.
  • Install select software for students and faculty as required.
  • Participates in appropriate training opportunities on an ongoing basis for the purpose of maintaining technological competency.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Regionally accredited Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience supporting educational environments or technology support.
  • One (1) to two (2) years working in an academic environment.

Minimum Requirements

  • Demonstrated proficiency with video production, including camera operation as well as all types of microphones and their proper utilization, mixers, acoustics, and video conference software.
  • Experience working with a Learning Management System.
  • Proficient with Windows and Macintosh Operating Systems
  • Ability to interact in a professional, effective, and appropriate manner with diverse multicultural populations, all levels of management, faculty, staff, and students.
  • Excellent communication, motivational and interpersonal skills, good customer service attitude, and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Ability to communicate technical issues to non-specialists.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines’
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours as required.
  • Familiarity with multimedia development and MS Office products.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with classroom/AV management systems (Crestron/Extron, etc.) preferred
