Distribution Center Supervisor

Summary of Position: The Supervisor is a member of the Operationsam who leads their team by example, sets clear expectations for the Team Leads, and holds them accountable when the expectations are not met.

The supervisor will also work with a sense of urgency in a smart, efficient, and effective manner to create and oversee the execution of the daily plan and position their team for success.

Roles A Safety Champion who follows all corporate safety guidelines, and works endlessly to create a safe work environment for assigned personnel.

A Quality Advocate who ensures that systems and processes under their supervision are satisfying internal and external customer requirements.

A Problem Solver who monitors process results and problems solves with their team to return process to standard.

When causes of problems/issues are not easy to identify, then root cause analysis needs to be conducted in order to problem solve.

A Leader/Mentor/Team Builder who builds a team that meets or exceeds the company goals and objectives, and who is continually training and developing their team members in order to improve their performance.

A Planner/Resource Manager that can plan their day accordingly and execute that manufacturing plan in order to maximize manpower and machine utilization.

Responsibilities To prevent safety hazards and lead Tool Box talks within their area and ensuring they are taking place and comply with all Agri-Fab Safety Policies and Procedures.

To ensure that the product their department produces promotes Quality moving forward, and meets all customer specifications and product quality standards.

Also, to promote Take Time for Quality throughout their department.

To manage their process (always in control) by ensuring that their employees follow the Standard Operating Procedures and that processes are performing to standard.

To follow-up on maintenance of all production equipment in order to minimize all down time, ensure product quality and product integrity.

To communicate and enforce all policies and procedures set by Operations, Human Resources, and Agri-Fab Incorporated.

Essential Functions This positions essential include, but are not limited to: Follows Supervisor Standard Work Coaches employees to develop their skills and abilities and resolve conflict in the work environment.

Assures adherence to safety, 6S, and quality standards Develops, recommends, and implements measures to improve safety, production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product Suggests changes in working conditions and processes to increase efficiency of production, department, or workers Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems Directs workers in performing rework on products which fail to meet standards Maintains time and production records including management operating system (MOS).

May recommend, schedule and/or perform training Investigates and documents safety incidents, performance issues and other remedial action.

Distributes documentation to appropriate personnel (HR, Safety, etc.) Supervisory Qualifications Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.

Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related background, knowledge and experience in manufacturing; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge of Continuous Improvement, 6s and other tools, systems and processes is preferred but not required.

Safety practices applicable to manufacturing environments and ability to follow designated safety procedures.

Knowledge of basic mathematical concepts and blueprint reading.

Understands business operations as a whole.
