Position Summary The Director, Video Partnerships oversees the Partnerships strategy, go to market approach and team for all National video offerings including Linear, Premium Online Video, and Cinema. The Director, Video Partnerships is the senior client team specialist role at Initiative, requiring a strong leader with proven experience managing multiple client teams, juggling multiple high level projects at one time, researching and justifying partner selection, and developing and negotiating multi-faceted media and marketing partnerships. Directors must think strategically and work collaboratively with other Partnerships disciplines and with client team leaders in Client Advice, Strategy, Communications Design and Analytics to create Partner recommendations that deliver on client strategic goals and business objectives. Key Responsibilities Client Direct communication with clients for all marketplace intelligence, negotiation and partnership needs and take ultimate accountability for team’s day-to-day responsibilities Maintain, develop and grow relationships with appropriate client level contacts Collaboration with Strategy, Analytics and Client Advice teams to ensure alignment with and delivery against client KPI’s Oversee partnership plan development, recommendation and implementation, incorporating necessary and appropriate rationale and research for client buy-in Bring forward new ideas and opportunities to move your client’s business forward Serve as Video marketplace landscape experts internally and with clients Internal Promote an open working environment where opinions, views and ideas can be shared Oversee the development of go to market strategy, recommendations and POVs Manage the execution of all media negotiations for all linear video, premium online video, and cinema channels Develop the staff through performance management and giving consistent feedback, while helping them work toward their professional goals Maintain and grow key marketplace relationships, including senior-level media owner and technology platform contacts Acts as lead portal for agency negotiations Partner selection recommendation and justification designed to deliver on client KPI’s using the most sophisticated use of data and analytics, via multi-faceted, strategic partnerships, while delivering maximum strategic value and efficiency Oversee partnership plan development, recommendation and implementation, incorporating necessary and appropriate rationale and research for client buy-in Responsible to ensure marketing direction and advertising strategy is provided, thorough and clearly understood by the entire team Arrange media days and partner briefings Provide accurate spend projections for interal reporting Identify and collaborate with media partners to develop promotional and other amplification opportunities to enhance each investment Identify and present new and emerging partners and opportunities in the marketplace Develop planning costs including Upfront projections, Scatter inflation Commercial Support and facilitate all Initiative and IPG MB revenue and industry initiatives Support and collaborate with all MB SBU’s for maximum effectiveness and seamless integration onto client business Support MAGNA aggregate negotiations across all media channels Desired Skills & Experience 8 years of buying network, cable and syndication with Initiative or another Media company or experience within the Media Industry 4 years successful management of a staff Proven superior customer service skills Demonstrated and proven leadership in Network and the Media business Proven ability to approach obstacles with creativity and resolve Proven ability to develop and maintain strong professional relationships with clients, colleagues and vendors Detailed awareness of client business issues, industry trends, consumer trends, promotional resources, market status, and competition Fluent in mathematical concepts with an ability to translate data into well-articulated ideas Complete knowledge of all media types Strong organizational, interpersonal, and managerial skills Ability to work successfully with teams, handling multiple projects and meeting tight deadlines under pressure Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving abilities in a fast-paced environment Superior analytical abilities and quantitative skills, including math proficiency Ability to effectively utilize media research and reporting resources Experience in Entertainment is not required but is a plus LI-DNI Wage and Benefits We offer a Total Rewards package that includes medical and dental coverage, 401(k) plans, flex spending, life insurance, disability, employee discount program, employee stock purchase program and paid family benefits to support you and your family.
