Director, Social Strategy

Overview & Responsibilities:

We are looking for a Director of Social Strategy, Daytime to join the CBS Marketing team. You will be responsible for developing and delivering social strategy, including social brief, approach and plan with platform strategy, talent engagement plan, voice and tone, measurement and reporting for all Daytime series and content. The Director of Social Strategy will work closely with the Global Brand Strategy team, the On-Air Planning team, and the Creative and Media teams to create innovative, ground-breaking 360 integrated marketing campaigns for CBS Daytime shows. You will engage and serve as the main point of contact for social agencies/vendors, if applicable. You will develop editorial calendar framework/architecture, lead social brainstorming and participate in Show Pod integrated planning. You will also partner with Social Producers to bring plans to fruition and Creative Directors, Designers, and Jr. Producers to drive creative vision and social best practices. You will partner with Publicity to drive talent engagement and create talent-specific social plans to optimize talent participation and social engagement for CBS Daytime shows.

  • Social media approach/brief (includes platform strategy, talent engagement, voice and tone, dos/do nots)
  • Editorial calendar framework
  • Social content capture needs
  • Social agency management (if applicable)
  • Ideation/development of social component of integrated campaigns
  • Measurement and reporting for ongoing campaigns
  • Social inputs for Campaign Wrap Reports

Basic Qualifications:

  • 7+ years experience in social media, digital, television and/or entertainment
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent

Additional Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated track record of innovative social/digital marketing campaigns
  • Passion for Daytime television: game shows, soaps, talk shows
  • Deep knowledge base of social media platforms
  • Excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skills
  • Understanding of Daytime television production
  • Strong presentation skills
  • A cooperative, team-focused approach
  • Comfortable in MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint
