The FOX Consumer Products & Engineering (CPE) group is looking for outstanding talent to lead the creation of next generation video experiences which stream thousands of live sports, entertainment, and news events per year including Super Bowl, World Series, FIFA World Cup, and more.
In the role of Director of Technical Product Management: Video Platform, you will lead a SAFe Agile Release Train and define, prioritize, and facilitate the rollout of new video technology powering Fox Sports, News, and Entertainment OTT applications.
This role requires strong technical and product management experience, exceptional leadership skills, an entrepreneurial spirit, versatility and expertise in all aspects of video workflow, delivery, and user experience and a passion for television.
A Snapshot Of Your Responsibilities
• Own product delivery of video platform for Live or VOD, lead successful execution and delivery of customer streaming experiences and operational tools
• Collaborate with the video solution train and other leadership to manage feature request intake, prioritization of the video roadmap, and define KPIs, to build and deploy effective and timely solutions while balancing technical dependencies, resourcing, and other constraints
• Work with the release train engineer, system architects, product owners, scrum masters, and engineering teams to draft and prioritize features for video streaming and operational tools in a scaled agile framework (SAFe) environment
• Dig deep into the design and architecture of high volume streaming solutions optimizing for availability, latency, scalability, and operational efficiency
• Partner with operations and agile release train leadership to implement and extend core solutions and use cases across platforms
• Lead a team of product owners including hiring, onboarding, and career development which delivers experiences which our users and customers love
• Use analytics, user testing, customer feedback, and optimization technologies to drive continuous and iterative improvement in the quality and performance of FOX’s internet live video delivery, monitoring, and management tools
• Use market and customer research, industry trends / best practices, and discovery with partners to conceptualize and develop product ideas
What You Will Need
• 5+ years of product management experience
• A passion for sports, TV and online video, and creating amazing consumer products
• Strong understanding of digital video delivery technologies including video CMS, live and VOD workflows, encoders, CDNs, and video ad decision technologies
• Knowledge of traditional broadcast technologies including scheduling/trafficking, signal origination/routing, playout, monitoring, and automation including an understanding of SCTE-35
• Ability to drive and influence business decisions based on data and metrics with expertise in web, mobile, and video analytics such as Conviva or Splunk
• Experience working in an Agile environment including defining and documenting product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria; prior experience with SAFe is a plus
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
• Comfortable working in an execution focused, fast paced environment balancing multiple projects, short-term goals, and long-term vision
• Solution-oriented, highly motivated, and proactive self-starter
