Description

The position is responsible for the development and execution of the store merchandising, design and brand vision and strategies for all retail stores in the Aramark Hospitality Management Line of Business.

This position will work closely with and at the direction of the VP of Retail on store merchandise planograms/layouts, fixture layouts/sourcing (including new stores and remodels), visual standards and training, experiential elements (signage, lighting, sound, digital, etc.); as well as marketing and growth initiatives and projects.

The purpose of this position is to ensure merchandise that is purchased is displayed in a cohesive and visually pleasing manner to drive brand, sales, profits and turns.

In addition, this position will ensure our stores environments are safe and dynamic for our customers and clients.

  • Visualize, develop, plan, and execute merchandising strategies with creativity and discipline both individually and in a team environment.
  • Train and develop all retail team members on guest service and visual merchandising standards.
  • Establish visual merchandising and promotional signage standards and manuals.
  • Develop a working process that aligns cross functional teams on seasonal, monthly, weekly layout and visual merchandising changes across all store formats (make the connection between merchandising, marketing, buying and operations.
  • Create a communication platform and provide tools that drive flawless execution of all visual merchandising layout planning and visual merchandising direction to stores.
  • Consistent store travel to understand the challenges and opportunities to drive improvements
  • Implementation of product assortment feature areas and department planograms from local and national buying teams.
  • Support all GM’s and buyers to ensure effective performance and maximum productivity as it relates to product, inventory management, and key performance indicators. 
  • Responsible and accountable for meeting or exceeding all financial goals & metrics.
  • Develop and maintain key client, vendor, store staff and co-worker relationships and be sure they are positive and productive.
  • Support and assist with special projects, E-Commerce, and company initiatives as needed.
  • Assist in planning and execution of all new retail store openings and remodels.
  • Work with enterprise store design, strategic assets and consultants on new store designs and store remodel projects (bid process and mobilizations).
  • Attends industry leading buying and design tradeshows.
  • Participate and lead monthly retail meetings and distribute monthly merchandising best practices newsletter.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree; preferably in Business, Marketing or a design field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in visual merchandising, store design and buying with a major retailer or concessionaire.
  • Corporate visual merchandising management experience with prior responsibility managing and influencing teams.
  • Experience collaborating with and influencing cross function teams (buying, design, merchandising, marketing, operations)
  • Exceptional leadership ability with an eye for design and style, with demonstrated success in visual merchandising, innovation, and implementation.
  • Strong ability to communicate ideas and lead teams from conception to implementation.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Proficiency with business and retail computer applications including Microsoft Office, Visio or another Planogram Software and Retail Pro or another POS/Buying Software.
