The Director of Sales is responsible for leading and managing a sales team of 7-9 members to drive revenue growth and achieve sales targets. This role involves strategic planning, managing key accounts, developing new business opportunities, and ensuring customer satisfaction. The Director of Sales will also be directly managing a key account, requiring a strategic approach to maintain and grow the account effectively.
Specific areas of focus will include:
● Lead, motivate, and manage a sales team of 7-9 members, setting sales targets and performance metrics.
● Directly manage a key account, developing a deep understanding of the client’s needs and ensuring their satisfaction.
● Identify and develop new business opportunities to achieve sales growth.
● Oversee the sales team’s activities, ensuring they meet sales quotas while maintaining competitive pricing.
● Develop and implement sales strategies in line with company objectives.
● Collaborate with marketing, product development, and other departments to ensure a cohesive go-to-market strategy.
● Represent the company at client meetings, trade shows, and industry conferences.
● Prepare reports and forecasts for the sales department, providing insights into sales performance and market trends.
● Travel 70%+ within the US, primarily within the local region.
Requirements
● Proven experience in sales management, preferably in the food and beverage industry.
● Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams.
● Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field is preferred.
● Proficiency in CRM software, Microsoft Office Suite, and especially Excel.
● Ability to travel regularly as required by the role.
