We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Procurement (Meat & Poultry) to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in our supply chain operations, focusing on the procurement of meat and poultry products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food procurement, particularly in meat and poultry, as well as a deep understanding of supply chain processes.
Responsibilities:
- Has responsibility for protein procurement which encompasses sourcing and negotiation of raw materials & live animals, inventory & vendor management, commodity sales liquidation of excess meat commodity materials as well as the overall strategy and design of the category.
- Responsible for defining procurement strategy to establish supply sources, maximize current and future market conditions, and define contingency planning to ensure critical supplies are met.
- Responsible for cost savings, risk avoidance, and process improvement
- Establish and maintain portfolio of strategic agreements and key supplier relationships; managing performance metrics, leading business reviews, and managing any escalations
- Responsible for production and oversight of the inputs needed from Meat Procurement to support monthly pricing discussion in both Retail and Foodservice business
Qualifications:
- Demonstrates procurement leadership experience or experience in related operational fields such as Manufacturing, Logistics, Operations, or Supply Chain.
- Should show a strong understanding of operational aspects of the company from raw materials through delivering to the customer (internal and external).
- Ability to present complex information
