Director of Platform Applications Engineering

RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead and manage a cross functional team consisting of hardware, firmware, debug and performance engineers to enable customers to design and develop best-in-class products around AMD EPYC processors.

Drive engagements with Cloud, HPC and OEM/Enterprise accounts throughout the product lifecycle from concept definition through development and mass production.

Support BIOS / UEFI FW and BMC development and debug to ensure high quality, performant and secure systems.

Address customer questions across all aspects of product development Drive customer communications strategy, content creation and delivery to ensure clear and timely communication of program plans, technical issues and other notifications.

Plan and execute joint bring-up activities for new platforms.

Drive debug of issues to root cause and partner with other engineering teams to develop and validate bug fixes.

Partner with customers to achieve optimal performance in targeted benchmarks and workloads.

Collaborate seamlessly across domains and organizations including platform and silicon engineering, product management, business segment, sales, and field application engineering.

Communicate regularly and proactively at all levels of the organization.

Regularly communicate status updates and plans to C-level executives.

PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS: Proven track record of success working directly with customers to develop systems from concept to production Prior experience leading technical organizations including system debug, FW and HW expertise.

Prior experience working with BIOS solutions, such as UEFI, Legacy BIOS, or Coreboot Experience working with cross-functional teams from multiple domains Solid knowledge of software development process Solid knowledge of x86 platform architecture and key technologies such as power management, DDR, and PCI-Express.

Excellent communications skills and ability to adjust the message to the target audience.

Must be skilled at distilling complex situations and details into clear and concise updates, both written and verbal, and equally comfortable communicating with engineers or corporate executives.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: Bachelors degree required; Masters preferred
