Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities of the Director of Operations, Grants Administrator is to supervise, train and assist fund managers in preparation of the financial reporting for contracts and grants.
In addition, this role is responsible for acquiring the knowledge to work independent of senior management and for the oversight and daily management of assigned fund managers.
Qualifications
Working knowledge of University policies and procedures for the administration of contracts and grants.
Working knowledge of grant management policies and procedures of federal agencies.
Ability to search information from the web and direct contact with funding agencies to clarify requirements and policies.
Working knowledge of pre-award proposal and budget development.
Demonstrated skill in financial analysis, planning, preparation and administration of contract and grant budgets with multiple funding sources.
Analytical skills to analyze information, practices and procedures, formulate logical and objective conclusions and make recommendations for effective solutions.
Demonstrated skill in resolving complex contract and grant financial issues which involve interpretation and application of established policies and procedures.
Experience in supervising staff including selection, training, motivating, delegating responsibility, work review, evaluating performance and discipline.
Demonstrated experience and expertise in developing, implementing and maintaining effective procedures for contacts and grants management.
Skill in projecting, analyzing and monitoring income and expense trends on the basis of existing revenue and cost data.
Skill in navigating the Transfer of Funds, Purchasing and Accounts Payable, Query database and Employee Database systems at UCLA.
