Seated in our Los Angeles based headquarters, Genies is looking for our first Director of Marketing to join our dynamic and innovative team. Reporting to our CEO & Founder, the Head of Marketing will be responsible for driving Genies brand strategy, creative strategy, and experiential marketing strategy. You’ll partner closely with key stakeholders and leaders from product, user acquisition & growth, digital & social marketing, and our community teams to design uniquely creative and interactive global brand/consumer marketing experiences. Our ideal candidate has an extensive creative marketing background, and thrives in creative brand and consumer marketing experiences. You shine when it comes to designing experiential consumer activation events and strive to deliver one of a kind consumer experiences that embody a cultural philosophy and approach to consumer engagement.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Design and establish strategic framework for the execution of Genies global brand awareness and consumer growth objectives
- Drive all global brand and experiential marketing plans, initiatives and growth strategies; which includes:
- Consumer Activation Events & Pop Ups
- Interactive & Live Consumer Experiences
- Global Consumer & Brand Events
- Collaborate with cross functional teams and partners on:
- Product & brand strategy
- Experiential consumer events and activities
- User growth, engagement, activation and retention
- Creating a dynamic and creative consumer brand marketing presence
- Design consumer activation strategies and creative engagement
- Manage a hungry and influential creative marketing, brand and social marketing team to push the boundaries of consumer experience and engagement through live and digital interactive events
- Organizing and designing cross functional department strategy sessions
- Provide inputs to growth, product marketing and branding strategy with deep knowledge on market insights and industry trends
- Analyze the effectiveness of campaigns to better optimize spend and performance, draw insights & make data-driven decisions that drive the marketing team’s goals
- Plan and lead creative marketing campaigns and activations to increase brand awareness, brand likability, product usage, as well as acquire and retain new users
- Guide and manage external agencies in order to achieve digital goals and ensure that tactics deliver on return on investment
- Develop the strategy for categories in each region and tap into these cultural pillars to grow the community
- Manage budgets, develop cohesive conclusions and present key findings to executive team
What You Should Have
- 6+ years of prior marketing experience with at least 2 years of digital and social marketing experience
- Experience in building global brand equity with a broad and diverse consumer audiences
- Track record for launching and hosting uniquely creative experiential and interactive consumer pop-up events
- Subject matter expertise when it comes to experiential, brand and digital marketing
- Undergraduate degree in marketing or related field – Master’s degree a plus
- Exceptional people and project management skills; ability to manage relationships with various business units, departments, consultants and external partners/agencies
- Must be able to prioritize, multitask, and focus while adhering to strict project timeline and budgets
- Strong understanding of growth and movement in the digital landscape
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented, with excellent time-management skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to function well in a collaborative, team oriented environment
- Experience overseeing internal and external creative teams/agencies
- Demonstrated experience and passion for social media; educated in all current social platforms
- Proactive, thoughtful, and collaborative nature
