Director of Agency Partnerships

Job Overview We’re looking for an experienced Director of Agency Partnerships to join our sales team!

The ideal candidate is a Swiss-army knife experienced in recruiting, pitching and closing key partnerships with e-commerce focused marketing agencies, understands the Shopify/SMB e-commerce ecosystem well, and is willing to get his/her hands dirty.

You should have a background in business development/sales and high-volume relationship management.

Ultimately, you’ll be responsible for strategically owning and executing on Tontine’s ecosystem partnerships channel.

– while you’ll start off in an execution role, you’ll eventually be able to hire and run your own team, manage your own P&L, etc.

This isn’t a job where you’ll be constantly asking for permission.

You’ll get to define your own KPI deliverables –
– once you’ve proven yourself (within 2-3 quarters), you’ll become the mini-CEO of your own team, and you’ll set your own team’s KPIs and reporting structure.

Trust, but also accountability, is at the heart of everything we do.

If you continue to exceed expectations, you can expect to be promoted to the VP of Sales & Partnerships role within 12-24 months.

Role
Kickstart and own Tontine’s agency partnerships strategy (forecasting, execution, go-to-market and resourcing plan).

This is both a partner relationship and revenue generating role, focused entirely on service providers; you’ll be responsible for sourcing, recruiting, pitching, negotiating, and closing these partnerships.

Develop systems and processes to measure and track revenue impact; implement platforms such as PartnerStack or PartnerPage.

Spearhead execution of agency partnerships-focused marketing operations –
– i.e.

setup & configuration of email automation, campaign execution, attribution & reporting, database management, CRM administration, etc.

Develop mutually-beneficial and trusting relationships with partners; make Tontine a favored company to work with.

Work with key partner stakeholders to develop partnership plans and establish mutual growth goals; review such plans with Tontine management and with partners.

Conduct regularly scheduled calls to explore partners’ specific needs and anticipate new opportunities.

Lead compelling presentations of Tontine’s product and vision to a broad range of audiences from C-level executives to individual contributors.

Organize and lead fun learning events for partners to educate them on the benefits of working with Tontine.

Define “sourced revenue” (opportunities) and other measures of success with each relationship and use data to analyze successes; deliver regular reports to the executive team.

Develop KPI’s to showcase successes/failures; report on progress on a weekly basis.

Build revenue projections and align with the executive team on a weekly/monthly basis to meet those projections.

Requirements
2-3 years of experience with agency partnerships sales at other SaaS companies (preferably in the e-commerce vertical/Shopify ecosystem).

You must have existing agency relationships.

1-2 years of SDR/BDR/AE experience either at SaaS companies or e-commerce focused marketing agencies.

1-2 years of experience with scaling outbound cold email strategies/automated campaigns (using HubSpot, Close.io, etc.).

You’re experienced with and comfortable in high-growth, high-intensity environments.

You either have the experience, or you’re willing to be the CEO of your own portfolio.

You have extremely sharp attention to details –
– you see yourself as almost a perfectionist.

You thrive in ambiguity and can develop repeatable processes; don’t get overwhelmed by a lack of clear direction at all times.

You’ve had a demonstrable history of selling into our target profiles (1) marketing agency owners/CEOs and/or (2) CEO/CMO of e-commerce merchants.

You are commercially driven and have a proven track record of meeting or beating revenue targets.

You are passionate and obsessive about every detail of the partner experience including how we talk and communicate with partners, how we deliver value to our partners, and how partners are helping Tontine achieve its business objectives.

You understand what it means to “give to get”.

You are comfortable getting into the weeds on process and operational issues that underlie how a business functions so that you can make recommendations on how to improve them.

You are able to deliver an incredible amount of impactful work with standards most would consider unreasonably high.

You have exceptional verbal and written communication skills, especially since most of your work will be done remotely.

You are willing to travel occasionally post-COVID ( You have the ability and willingness to work long hours and some weekends (if necessary).

You’re a strong individual contributor first and foremost, but can assist with hiring/management of others when the time comes.
