THE ROLE

Our Director, Learning and Development will plan, build, implement, and deliver high-impact training and development experiences to support our employees through these exciting times of growth at Thrive Market. 

This role will manage formal learning and development programs and growth strategies in a blended environment with a broad audience.

The ideal candidate has curated a varied curriculum based on data and need assessments, administered and/or collaborated with vendors on training initiatives, identified and arranged suitable training solutions, and incorporated best practices for employees at all levels in the organization.

The Director, Learning and Development will collaborate and partner with People Operations and act as liaison and advisor to leadership to define the learning and development strategy across the organization.

We are looking for someone who has a history of designing and rolling out impactful L&D programs, sharing their expertise, and driving several high priority and high impact projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive companywide L&D strategy by identifying key learning priorities shared across Thrive Market and build and facilitate programs to deliver against needs (ex leadership development, manager effectiveness, soft skills training)
  • Conduct needs assessments to determine training requirements, and help to enhance job performance, career growth, and to support overall company performance and business goals
  • Evaluate effectiveness of programs through performance metrics and ensure initiatives align with strategic business objectives and employee growth goals
  • Develop appropriate data-gathering methodologies, such as focus groups, interviews, survey design, and analysis and 360-degree feedback to design OD initiatives
  • Project manage end-to-end design and integration of various programs (i.e., performance reviews, talent calibrations, succession planning, and leadership development programs)
  • Operationalize & scale efforts to define systems requirements and implementation of a global learning management program
  • Deep understanding employee population and needs in order to design programs across all locations, employee levels, and job roles, allowing for flexibility to enhance and improve initiatives
  • Collaborate/partner with People Operations team and leaders to understand needs related to training and development and to recommend and roll out effective solutions

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA/BS degree required, preferably in Organizational Development, Organizational Design or related field 
  • 10+ years of learning & development, talent development, organizational design, or organization development experience a must, and 2+ years of progressive human resources experience, preferably within a fast paced, start-up environment
  • Proven experience in the ideation, design and delivery of impactful and engaging learning and development programs
  • Ability to be a trusted, consultative partner and trainer across all levels of an organization
  • Project manager and organizer who can handle several complex projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Strong relationship building skills, partnering with senior leaders and People Operations on initiatives
  • Ability to analyze data in order to identify and develop best-in-class training recommendations
