This role is responsible to go after, win and keep key customers within the Consumer Vertical.
Your Role
The Director, Key Account Manager Consumer Vertical is a senior sales position that develops new business by creating value through the thoughtful and proactive application of logistics solutions for strategic customers in the Consumer vertical.
Your Responsibilities
* Meet or exceed sales growth targets based on volume and GP growth
* Build strategic relationships with key contacts within nominated Consumer / Retail organizations to understand opportunities across Kuehne + Nagel product portfolio
* Own customer relationship and develop strategy to grow book of business with KN.
* Develop and implement account plans for account portfolio including prospect accounts and existing customers
* Act as the single point for the selling across KN products and services and to identify areas for cross selling
* Responsible to mobilize Kuehne + Nagel internal stakeholders around value creation opportunities and to work closely in leading cross functional team to develop creative solutions to meet customer needs.
* Drive the RFQ response for their assigned Strategic Customer(s) including proposal writing, collaborative development of win theme, aligning with executive team on strategy and close collaboration with applicable product and trade teams.
* Oversee regular review sessions as well as initiate and lead top to top meetings
* Maintain close communication with customer and KN’s operations to assure uniform understanding of customer expectations relative to operational solutions, timeline, costs and results.
Direct operational issues to the correct operational owner.
* Have intimate understanding of customer’s business drivers and liaise with Key Account Program team develop opportunities for continuous improvement
* Partner with product leadership to create new and creative solutions and service offerings for vertical
Your Skills and Experiences
* 10+ years applicable experience with global account management and proven success in business development.
* Solid understanding of the theory and practice of supply chain management
* Experience in Retail / lifestyle / FMCG industries.
* Creative ability in developing sales strategies and solutions and in presenting innovative solutions to customers
* Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
* Strong leadership skills in managing cross functional teams to meet objectives
* Excellent communication and organizational skills.
* Ability to effectively handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
* Ability to travel
* Undergraduate degree in logistics, international business or related business field
