Job Description

The Director of Diagnostic Services in coordination with the Medical Director of Ancillary Services will lead the Department of Diagnostic Services and oversees staffing, budgeting, and operational planning and management.

The Director Diagnostic Services ensures diagnostic and therapeutic programs and CLIA Waived testing complies with all corporate and regulatory agency standards and procedures.

Coordinates provision of Diagnostic Services with other medical functions and has overall responsibility for the technical aspect of radiological safety.

The Director of Diagnostic Services will ensure continuous process improvement initiatives are developed and executed and will collaborate with cross-functional leaders in Health Services, Ancillary Services, and Senior Care Services.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in in business or applicable healthcare-related field required.

    Master’s Degree preferred.

  • 5 years’ outpatient imaging management experience, multi-site oversight preferred
  • ARRT, RDMS, NMTCB, or other imaging-based certification.

Responsibilities

  • Implements and ensures that the department is meeting quality and safety needs for both employees and patients
  • Monitors all departments operations to ensure that they are following all governmental regulations while meeting standards
  • Provide consistent leadership to team while having open communication
  • Consistently demonstrate system values and policies while at the facility
  • Monitors radiation safety
  • Manages all technical and qualitative aspects of all radiology exams as required within the scope of certification for which supervised diagnostic technician is capable and qualified to perform.
  • Manages the maintenance and safe operation all diagnostic imaging equipment in working order.

    Validates that all reports of non-functioning and/or need for equipment are communicated to administrative, nursing and clinical leadership.

  • Responsible for leading staff to deliver a world class patient experience as required to align with patient satisfaction enterprise goals and to efficient facilitate patient flow.
  • Manages imaging technologists to validate the production of high quality films that are acceptable to physicians on duty, as well as Radiologists.
  • Manages and validates accurate documentation of all procedures, completion of all radiologic areas of patient record, which includes collecting complete billing information and accurately completing radiologic specific aspects of encounter form.
  • Oversees imaging technologist’s detailed documentation of procedures, diagnosis, and other medical notes relevant to proper treatment.
  • Oversees imaging technologist’s x-ray files/logs and technique charts or schedules.
  • In partnership with Medical Leadership, develop and improve existing radiologic and imaging policies and procedures.
  • Administrative oversight of technical process management, patient and staff safety, and regulatory compliance of dental radiology.
  • Other duties as assigned.
