With the $600 million acquisition of Wattpad earlier this year, now we have a combined monthly user base of 166 million people.

By working closely with Wattpad, WEBTOON is planning to bring more innovations to the online publishing industry and reward writers through a new premium service.

You will be an early hire of Digital Fiction Group that will leverage WEBTOON and Wattpads unmatched library of IP, powered by a new generation of creators, and the technology to create hits in every genre.
We are seeking an experienced content acquisitions executive to build our content library and grow our audience's engagement by acquiring stories from publishers and distributors of all sizes and working with the content operations and product teams to make strategic use of content to activate our readers.

Responsibilities
Develop and own strategic relationships with content partners and negotiate acquisition deals
Build highly engaged teams by hiring, coaching, and instilling a sense of ownership and impact
Manage all aspects of acquisition and estimate costs and potential sales for each project.

Run p&ls
Leverage data-driven insights to inform future acquisition targets, evaluate content performance and content needs
Ensure that content developed and produced by our key entertainment partners thrives on WEBTOONs product
Collaborate across internal teams: Finance, Legal, Operations, Marketing and Wattpad.
Complete long-term and ad-hoc projects, including competitive analysis, to support the broader strategy of WEBTOON
Qualifications
Minimum of 10+ years publishing or equivalent experience, with at least 5 years negotiating deals on the buy or sell side
Strong knowledge of the ebook market and digital-distribution landscape
Hands on leader who has hired a world-class team and cares about mentorship and development
An avid fiction reader and a deep passion for digital storytelling
Experience of internal and external development
Comfortable with working in a digital environment
Deal structuring and negotiation
Strong presentation skills, including experience presenting to senior executives
Demonstrated agility, flexibility, and capability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding environment while maintaining calm and composure
