This position is highly strategic and requires an individual who is technically astute, has experience working across USG (intel, DoD and civil); prime contractors; and launch vehicle service providers within the space industry.

This position has responsibility and accountability for developing customer and supplier relationships, enabling successful program capture, and supporting contract follow-on efforts that lead to both sustained world class program execution and top line business growth required of our operating plan.

This individual will be responsible for planning, coordinating, directing and executing all related strategy and business development activities associated with our Advanced Propulsion and Technology programs to include customer engagements, proposal development, budget creation/management/oversight, conferences and local events.

This position involves significant customer interface to identify areas of opportunity and to develop these opportunities into winning Aerojet Rocketdyne offers.

Additionally this individual must be highly collaborative and proactively engage with internal stakeholders across multiple Space Program Sectors to ensure connectivity throughout the Business Unit.

In this role, you will also foster ethical conduct, practices, and personal integrity throughout Aerojet Rocketdyne to ensure the company’s ability to attract and retain customers in a highly competitive environment.

nn nEssential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)n Serve as the primary business development focal for the Advanced Propulsion and Technology programs supporting our Launch and Space Exploration customers for the Space Strategy & Business Development organization.

Meet and interface with senior level USG and prime contractor executives, particularly with USSF, SMC/Launch Enterprise, NASA, ULA, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, and Northrop Grumman.

Manage and oversee direct reports, as assigned, to support the Launch and Space Exploration customers and the related strategy and business development activities required.

Participate in technical meetings for internal and external representatives concerning organizational projects.

Represent Aerojet Rocketdyne’s interests in meetings, conferences, and workshops, as assigned.

Provide leadership, oversight, development and execution of business strategies for new products and technologies.

Be responsible for marketing new technology or follow-on business acquisition.

Responsible for creating strategic plan inputs for the annual business plan and managing tasks of strategic importance to the product area.

Oversee internally funded discretionary budgets (IR&D, new business process funds, etc).

Support development of the Aerojet Rocketdyne technology roadmaps and other internal executive level plans.

Interface with Aerojet Rocketdyne senior level management, as required.

nRequirementsn nn This is a senior-level position requiring a Bachelor’s degree in a related technical or business field and fourteen (14) years of experience in managing a portfolio of successful business development efforts, with an emphasis on emerging/new technologies and demonstrated top line growth achievement or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Advanced degree preferred.

nn nn Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S.

Security Clearance at the appropriate level (U.S.

Citizenship required).

Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.

nn nn Additional Requirements/Qualifications: nn Technical and business development experience in boost and upper stage engines for launch and propulsion products and technologies for space exploration, preferred.

Experience in Aerospace and Defense manufacturing environment with program diversity ranging from complex development to rate production.

Experience in the management of business development processes and resources.

Considerable initiative and organizational skills.

Ability to drive convergence and resolution to challenges of substantial importance to the Company.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

nn Work Environment/Physical Requirements: nn nn Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer.

Requires significant travel.
