Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is currently seeking a Director 2
– Strategic Planning to support our Advanced Weapons Business Unit based in Northridge, CA. 

In this role, the selected candidate works with a diverse cross sector team to develop, communicate and execute the business strategy for the Advanced Weapons Business Unit and the overall NG Advanced Weapons Campaign Missile Prime business.

Based on close coordination and understanding of customer needs, the position is responsible to identify and prioritize missile prime business opportunities, and then leading the formulation of the overall NG missile prime strategy to capture these market opportunities.

This requires a detailed understanding of customer requirements and associated budgeting and acquisition processes.

The position will work in a close partnership with the BD and Advanced Programs teams within the Advanced Weapons Business Unit, along with multiple other business units across various NG sectors. Performs economic analyses on new or improved product opportunities and/or business models and coordinates with internal departments in identifying/implementing business strategy.

Required close coordination with multiple senior customers and potential industry strategic partnerships.

Develops and executes communications plans of the NG Missile Prime strategy both internally and externally.

The position is the lead strategist responsible for attaining the NG aspiration of becoming a top missile prime, therefore the position / decisions made have significant business implications to the Sector. 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelors in Engineering (or in sciences)

• 20 years of combined government and/or industry experience with DoD customer

• Understanding of customer, requirements, budgeting, and acquisition process

• Understanding of US military service missions, concept of operations, and processes used to prioritize warfighting requirements

• Understanding of OSD’s role in the oversight and influence of service requirements and budgets

• Ability to leverage the cross sector capabilities of NG to provide the best integrated solutions to meet DoD needs

• Secret Clearance with current background investigation (ability to obtain SAR clearances)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Masters degree in Engineering (or sciences)

• Proven ability to work across sectors on complex weapon system solutions

• Knowledge of NG products in missile market area

• Knowledge of the NG BAP process

• TS/SCI clearance
