Deputy Director Development & Technical Services

Ada County Highway District is now accepting applications for an exempt management position of Deputy Director Development & Technical Services.

Starting wage is $96,242
– $115,482 annually, DOQ.

Primary Duties: The Deputy Director is responsible for the oversight and strategic planning of District programs and functions as related to development, capital improvements planning, roadway and bridge design, construction, inspection, traffic safety and operations, drainage facilities and stormwater quality.

The Deputy Director is responsible for the management of staff to ensure performance expectations are met with regards to the overall organizational efficiency and performance of the Development & Technical Services Division.

The Division includes the Development Services, Traffic Services, Design and Construction, and Environmental Departments.

The Deputy Director reports directly to the ACHD Director.

Qualifications: The successful candidate must have considerable management experience in a progressively responsible capacity that includes financial and budgetary management and comprehensive knowledge of the principles and practices of public administration, preferably in an organization of comparable size to the District.

Extensive managerial experience and background in the civil engineering principles and practices involved in roadway design, rehabilitation, construction, inspection, and repair of roads, streets, bridges, signals and drainage facilities.

Also requires managerial experience in municipal public works planning, design and administration, and contract management and administration.

Bachelor’s degree with major work in public administration, business management, civil engineering or related field along with work experience with managerial or supervisory responsibilities.

Idaho P.E.

license and/or completion of a master’s degree or graduate level courses in the respective disciplines is a plus.

Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be acceptable.
