Deloitte Advisory PPMD Talent Matters Manager

The Advisory PPMD Talent Matters team collaborates with business leaders to grow, develop, assess, and guide the career paths of our Partners, Principals and Managing Directors (“PPMDs”) and provides strategic direction in an objective, unbiased manner for talent-related matters.

More about the Advisory PPMD Matters Manager Role:

The PPMD Talent Manager is responsible for supporting the execution of the Deloitte Advisory PPMD Talent Matters strategy and associated operational priorities.

As part of the Advisory PPMD organization, the PPMD Talent Manager is responsible for developing work products that advance the realization of people-related opportunities and solve complex people-related challenges.

The focus will be to support Advisory’s PPMD Talent Process:

  • Manage the Admissions process for new PPMD’s
  • Support the Direct Admit process and orientation
  • Manage the Annual P/P Peering and Director Level process
  • Manage the Annual Goal Setting process.

The PPMD Talent Manager will also contribute across other workstreams including: Performance Management, Compensation and Unit Allocations, Reporting, Compliance & Transitions.

In addition, the PPMD Talent Manager will help with projects that span PPMD talent and inclusion strategy, process, operations, and strategic and/or technology transformation, change management, strategic communications, and project management.

An intermediate knowledge of excel and ability to work in and manage large data files along with being flexible and ability to handle ambiguity, changing priorities, and confidential information will be required.

Job overview:

To support the Deloitte Advisory PPMD Talent Matters team in executing the various processes related to Deloitte Advisory Partners, Principals and Managing Directors including:

  • Partner and Managing Director development and succession planning
  • PPMD Direct Admit experienced hires and onboarding
  • New Partner admissions and Managing Director promotions
  • Performance management
  • Partner peering and Managing Director leveling
  • Managing Director compensation
  • Partner and Managing Director reporting and tracking

Job responsibilities:

  • Perform numerous quantitative and analytic analyses
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information with maximum discretion
  • Compose and produce correspondence, spreadsheets and presentation materials.

    Proofread these documents for accuracy

  • Assist in developing content and materials for presentations
  • Monitor and maintain succession information
  • Manage the Elevate performance management system
  • Manage and maintain the database that houses all of the information regarding demographics, appraisals, peering groups, and units (PEPS system)
  • Maintain the database used for admissions and promotions (APT)
  • Effectively correspond/communicate with Deloitte Advisory Partners, Principals, and Managing Directors on a regular basis.
  • Effectively manage and supervise Consultant, Administrative and other personnel
  • Effectively correspond/communicate with Deloitte Advisory Leadership
  • Liaise effectively with counterparts in other functions and National Partner Matters
  • Liaise with Finance teams to acquire data pertinent to performance management and admissions processes
  • Organize, plan and oversee meeting events 

Qualifications:

  • Prior work experience in a Professional Services firm a plus
  • Strong analytical, research and problem solving skills

  • Strong at multi-tasking and ability to prioritize and follow through
  • Excellent computer skills — MS Word, Intermediate Excel skills and knowledge , Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams and SharePoint
  • Strong project management, organization, coordination, analytical and critical-thinking skills, and a willingness to tackle both strategic priorities and operational processes
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity, adapting to emerging priorities and self-managing in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
  • Deliverable development including requirements gathering, analysis, storyboarding; excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills
  • Work both independently and collaboratively with a team
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate across all levels

  • Travel up to 10% (While 10% of travel is a requirement of the role, due to COVID-19, non-essential travel has been suspended until further notice.)
