Job Summary
The Sr Dir, Chief Data Governance Officer is responsible for overseeing the global development, implementation and maintenance of data quality and management across ADS.

This in alignment with established risk management framework, policies, and regulatory requirements across all ADS business units and the banks.

The Sr Dir, Chief Data Governance Officer sets and determines the oversight and monitoring of Data Governance and quality.

As a leader, the Sr Dir, Chief Data Governance Officer and their reports are responsible for the oversight and execution of the Data Risk strategy as a 2nd line of defense function.

This role is lead on ensuring regulatory compliance for Data Governance.

The Sr Dir, Chief Data Governance Officer provides confidential assessments on Data quality and reports to the Bank Chief IT and Data Risk officer.

The Dir, Chief Data Governance Officer leads a team of data management advisors and IT Risk Data analysts.
Job Description

Essential Job Functions

Delivery
– Responsible for understanding and promoting Data Governance and quality  awareness  for Alliance Data and its affiliated entities, including our banks.

Design and implement global assessment and assurance strategies for data management based on data integrity and audit background.

Facilitate and coordinate data risk assessments and benchmarking for data governance and strategy.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge and understanding of technology trends, data protection, and business strategy.

Strengthen the data ecosystem and data governance through a close working relationship with senior leadership, deep understanding of the data strategy, participation in advisory requests, and innovative thought leadership on emerging data risks and issues.

Strategy
– Develops Data Risk Strategy annually and drives the roadmap of risk assessments to continually measure progress Manages the Data Risk Assessment Program and assures Data issues adhere to the ERO framework.

Ensures data strategy is in alignment with appropriate data management practices for a Bank.

Benchmark business units to a common Data Risk register to assure quality and consistency globally.

Provides confidential reports to Bank Chief IT and Data Risk Officer and to senior leadership.

Collaboration
– Coordinate Data risk management across the enterprise; facilitate creation and communication of new or updated data management plans, including the policy documentation.

Collaborate with Data Goveranance leadership to both understand needs, practices and expectations, as well as negotiate solutions that support Data risk management goals.

Provide subject matter expertise in and oversight of the design and execution of Data reviews and testing.

Function as an ambassador to senior leadership and provide guidance on prioritization for successful risk outcomes to improve quality and meet regulatory compliance. 

Reports to: Chief IT and Data Risk Officer

Working Conditions/ Physical Requirements: Normal office environment, some travel may be required.

Direct Reports: Leads a team in Bangalore, potential for 1-2 US associates

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Management Information Systems , Data Science, Data Analytics, Computer Science

Ten or more years in Technology Risk or Control Management/Assessments; or Technology Audit experience

Knowledge of Data Management and Governance

Some experience with statistical data analysis and data quality concepts to support business outcomes 

Preferred Experience:

Master’s degree in information technology, management information systems, engineering, data science, management information systems, computer science

Certification: Recognized ERM professional certifications, e.g.

CERP(Certified Enterprise Risk Professional)

Twelve or more years in Technology Risk or Control Management/Assessments; or Technology Audit experience

Knowledge of Data Management and Governance

Some experience with statistical data analysis and data quality concepts to support business outcomes
