CT Fund Manager-OBGYN & Urology

Responsibilities

As our Clinical Trials Fund Manager, you will perform a variety of financial related functions as it pertains to clinical trials in the Departments of OBGYN and Urology.

You will provide both specific and general financial, accounting and analytical assistance for various clinical research accounts/funds that could include private industry contracts as well as state and national grant award funds.

You will also support the department management in financial reporting and analysis, accounting, funding source management, and reconciliation tasks.

Under the guidance of the CFO and CT Finance Supervisor, you will distribute information in monthly and quarterly report cycles.

You will work with the clinical research administrative team as financial lead and support for all matters related to clinical research portfolio.

You will be department liaison for financial matters connected to clinical research portfolio.

Define, analyze, and direct the daily fiscal operations of a multi-million dollar portfolio of pharmaceutical and medical industry, non-profit, contract and grant, research, laboratory and clinical trial programs and other intramural and extramural funding from pre-award through post award and close-out, as determined by the CFO and CT Finance Supervisor.

Qualifications

Ability to recognize implications, propose alternatives, and recommendations and implement solutions, analyze information to determine programmatic needs.
Skill in negotiating and exchanging ideas and information to formulate policies and procedures.
Experience with University financial transactions including those related to UCLA Purchasing and Accounts Payable System (PAC), Financial Systems (FS), Payroll System (EDB), Financial Projection Module (FPM), Electronic Reporting System (ERS) and Query Data Base (QDB) strongly preferred
Skill in independently prioritizing assignments to complete work in a timely manner when there are changes in workload, changes in assignments, and a heavy workload.
Knowledge of UCLA Health System Center organizational structure, clinical, research, and administrative departments preferred
Demonstrated writing skills to compose logical, comprehensive and grammatically correct correspondence, procedures and reports.
Skill in using PC, Excel, Word, Outlook and other computer software products.
Experience in working with agencies and institutions related to medical research
Working knowledge of principles of accounting and financial management.
Demonstrated skill in financial analysis, planning, preparation and administration of multi-million dollar budgets with multiple funding sources.
Ability to establish, implement, monitor, and evaluate computerized financial planning, reporting, and management systems
Skill in budget preparation and management, preparation of financial reports.
Bachelor Degree (preferably in Finance) preferred
