Compensation Manager

We know that its all about the Journey, but compensation is a huge part of what makes that Journey worth exploring. We are on the hunt for an experienced Compensation Manager to lead Hot Topic Inc.s compensation programs across the company, including developing a companywide compensation strategy for a salaried and hourly workforce, including performance based bonus programs.This role will work closely with the Manager of Benefits, to develop a total rewards strategy for the organization.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Planning, developing, implementing and administering compensation programs that support the Companys pay-for-performance compensation strategy

Partner with Talent and HR business partners to provide consultation on any compensation matters such as:performance reviews, offer proposals, and pay bands

Drive identification, assessment and execution of ongoing compensation process improvement

Working in partnership with the Director of Talent, refine career path programs, milestones, and rewards

Analyze and report on market conditions and develop proactive business solutions

Leads periodic compensation activities including:salary/wage structures, annual compensation planning cycle, job analysis, creation and refinement of job grades and families, monthly/quarterly/annual bonus programs

Develops compensation insights, analytical tools and templates to be utilized by the broader HR and leadership teams

Lead Annual Review Cycle including design, administration, distribution and communication

Anticipate future business changes and challenges to develop new or revised compensation plans

Collaborate with internal peers, leadership and vendors to provide a high level of consultative and support services, ensuring programs are implemented

Lead the development of compensation communications to ensure that team members have the right level of knowledge about their total compensation

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

5+ years progressive compensation experience leading the function with a multi-unit business

Exceptional quantitative skills with a commitment to accuracy and details

Advanced level Excel skills with ability designing sophisticated reports & visual tools

Strong understanding of compensation practices and trends; ability to make independent decisions and recommendations based on compensation principles and philosophy

Enjoys problem solving, multi-tasking, and working in a fast-paced environment

Proven ability to advise HR partners and business leaders

Strong written, verbal, and graphic communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate technical information to varying audiences

Ability to build relationships and navigate complex organizations
