You will work at an MUFG facility an average of one to three days per week, with the remainder being worked remotely. There are flexible work-from-home options available. Job Summary: Community Outreach Officer will be assigned to a financial education kiosk at a nearby non-profit facility. Position reports to Corporate Social Responsibility for the Americas. This position will be responsible for developing community relationships that strengthen the Bank’s position in low-to-moderate income communities, including calling on area residents and businesses to promote business for the Bank, and furthering partnerships with area non-profits to promote financial education. The position will refer consumer and small business customers in low-to-moderate income communities to neighboring branch for products and services. If appropriate, refer prospects and customers to Bank officers or departments for additional services and products. Management or Supervision: No Major Responsibilities: 50% Community Outreach/Financial Education/Customer Service: Host the financial education kiosk during posted hours. Greet and assist customers with using the ATM machine to make deposits/withdrawals as needed/appropriate. Conduct one-on-one coaching and financial education counseling as appropriate for individuals, families and businesses. Collaborate with area non-profits to provide financial education and to share information about the Bank’s products and services. Collaborate with CSRA and other MUB staff to conduct, promote and/or executive community volunteer projects that benefit LMI individuals within the community. Represent MUB in the area’s Bank On 2.0 program. Assure proper handling of service requests and resolution of customer problems. Maintain established customer service level expectations in accordance with the Bank’s and Manager’s overall goals and objectives. 30% Sales Greet and assist potential and existing customers who are seeking information pertaining to banking services. Identify and respond to sales opportunities that arise from both customer inquiries and complaints. Proactively assess clients’ financial information by completing a Needs Assessment to determine total current and future financial needs. Interview consumer loan applicants and answer basic questions on consumer loan applications. Review applications for completeness and forward documents to consumer loan center for processing or refer to the Loan by Phone area. Recommend, present and sell appropriate products and services identified through the Needs Assessment process. Explain service features including service charges, interest rates, etc. Open new accounts in compliance with established policies and procedures. Prepare all paperwork and assist the customer in signing of documents necessary to process new accounts. Ensure that the account has been set up properly and that the accurate sales credit was recorded. Assist in the maintenance of internal customer records. Refer clients as necessary to the appropriate banker or department to cross-sell additional services or products. Actively consult with customers to update the Needs Assessment and make them aware of new products and changes in the financial industry which they would benefit from. 20% Risk/Compliance/Audit: Responsible for following and adhering to all bank operational and security policies and procedures, including compliance and privacy policies and procedures to maintain customer confidentiality. Ensures customer information meets bank and regulatory documentation. Responsible for maintaining customer accounts by making necessary account and signature card maintenance. Qualifications Qualifications: This position typically requires 1+ years of general banking operations/customer services and 0 to 2+ years of direct work experience in consumer financial products. Has general working knowledge of all consumer products and small business products. Requires an ability to work independently Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to operate PC, Windows, Word, Excel and other standard banking software. Ability to speak more than one language is desired.
