ACCOUNT DIRECTOR At Motive a successful Account Director is an integral player and evangelist, ensuring that the work we deliver to our clients is of outstanding quality and results-driven. The Account Director is responsible for the management, growth, and overall health of a key client relationship. They are a client steward, a brand partner, and an inspired marketer. They have a reputation for being the client’s go-to collaborator and trusted partner. They are obsessed with understanding the client’s business, ambitions, goals and the category landscape. They’re also eager to be able to “do” the work; digging into planning and execution with equal enthusiasm. This specific opportunity leans into the world of brand partnerships and navigating multiple high-profile global IPs. The ideal Director to lead this business is immersed in and inspired by the entertainment and pop-culture world, and is experienced in architecting and negotiating sponsorships and partnerships. As a senior leader on the team, the Director coordinates the resources needed to ensure successful projects, builds strategic marketing plans, and aligns the expectations of clients with the execution of creative work. The Director works in tight collaboration with the agency’s internal studios (creative, strategy, digital, experiential, content) as well as with clients, vendors and partner agencies. Key Areas of Responsibility Lead the agency’s strategic and day-to-day efforts on a high-profile brand. This is a role that will lead and do. Steward the strategy, creative, and execution of a multi-channel workstream with a diverse set of client stakeholders. Provide thought leadership and solutions that achieve business, marketing and engagement objectives. Working with Strategy, translate client assignments into meaningful briefs for the creative teams and effectively balance dual expectations of clients and the agency. Manage a variety of work streams including brand partnerships, traditional, digital, social, and promotional projects, including creation of timelines and budgets. Work with the client and internal teams to develop key partnership strategies, and oversee the negotiation and execution of sponsorship and partnership agreements. Participate in and/or lead big idea thinking sessions for the agency. Effectively assign, delegate, coordinate and monitor the work of agency staff members assigned to client projects. Multi-task and get the work done effectively and efficientlyon time, within project budgets and exceeding expectations. Ensure all projects remain within outlined and agreed to budget parameters. Effectively present strategic and creative platforms to internal and external audiences. Candidate Requirements A minimum of 10 years of integrated advertising agency experience. Experience working on traditional advertising. Experience leading brand partnerships top to bottom. BONUS POINTS: if those partnerships are in entertainment, film, television, or celebrity. Experience leading creative campaign work, and multi-channel execution. Experience working with international brand teams is a plus. Experience working in restaurant, food, or CPG is a plus. Experience managing and mentoring a team. Experience creating and managing budgets and project timelines. A strong ‘self-starter’ mentality and sense of responsibility.
