General Position/Summary of Position Requirements:

The Commissioning Manager role will be focused on providing commissioning services on a variety of systems to verify compliance with project and engineering specifications. The Commissioning Manager will work as part of a team to develop, manage and coordinate project specific commissioning plans which will include reviewing and verifying system installation, functional performance and control system operations. The candidate will focus on innovation for design, system enhancement and system maintainability to impact company efforts for building performance, health, sustainability and energy consumption reduction.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

• Work with technical and management subject matter experts to prepare the technical solutions, documentation and management in accordance with company guidelines and philosophies.

• Develop technical solutions relating to facility management and support the documentation of systems and solutions.

• Act as team leader to coordinate, direct and develop other members of the process staff.

• Determine processes based on knowledge, experience and correspondence with design/engineering firms.

• Read and understand plans and specifications for major/complex projects.

• Research and collect input from multiple internal and external resources.

• Understanding of multiple project types and analysis of past and future program performance with the ability to understand assumptions, risks and opportunities.

• Utilize the full capabilities of software packages to improve production, quality, accuracy and deliverables.

• Understanding of relationships to the ongoing success of Hensel Phelps.

• Direct of the workload of the Facility Solutions Associate(s).

• Other duties as assigned.

• Understanding of relationships to the ongoing success of Hensel Phelps.

• Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience :

• Possess basic written communications skills and be detail oriented.

• Eight (8) to ten (10) years Cx experience or comparable technical experience.

• Bachelor’s Degree from four-year college or university in Engineering or a related technical field; or four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Proficiency in BCxA, ACG and/or ASHRAE commissioning procedures.

• BCxA CCP, ACG CxA or ASHRAE BCxP certification is preferred.

• Knowledge of building HVAC mechanical systems, BAS systems, energy analysis and performance contracting preferred.

• Ability to read and understand construction documents and the ability to identify potential issues contained within.

• Intermediate knowledge of and understanding of fire/life safety, plumbing, lighting and security systems.

• Experience in project management required.

• Supervisory/leadership experience preferred.

• Proficiency in communication and teamwork for both internal and external clients/employees.

• Knowledge of electrical and/or mechanical and control systems.

• Knowledge of the efficient use of Building Automation Systems (BAS).

• Must possess a valid driver’s license.

• Must be able to function as part of a high-performance team.

• Ability to work collaboratively in mobile work environment.

• Software proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Project, Word, SharePoint).

• LANGUAGE SKILLS – The ability to read, understand and communicate in English is required. Communication includes both verbal and written skills. Must be able to communicate effectively with other tradesmen as well as peers, supervisors and customers.
