Commercial Lines Account Manager

TITLE: Commercial Lines Account Manager – Open for hybrid remote/office work
LOCATION: Los Angeles, CA
SALARY: $65,000-80,000 (Depending on experience, qualifications, and training)

SUMMARY
Well respected and successful independent agency is seeking an experienced Commercial Lines Account Manager. Position will provide and maintain excellent service to clients, and support commercial lines team and producers in processing all lines of commercial insurance in accordance with the agency guidelines and Agency Best Practices for service. Positions requires independent agency experience and knowledge of multiple insurance carriers and preferred risk appetite.

Remote work is available for qualified candidates that have demonstrated and proven work ethic and time management skills. This option is only available to local or semi-local candidates that are able to work from the office during part of the week.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Process renewals and incidental new business, cancellations, audits, and endorsement requests
  • Supervise and, if necessary, issue certificates of insurance
  • Negotiate coverages and premiums with carriers
  • Provide producer and/or account executive with accurate renewal proposals
  • Check policy coverages, endorsements and audits for accuracy
  • Handle or delegate insureds’ and underwriters’ questions or requests
  • Invoice policies, audits, endorsements, cancellations and other appropriate transactions
  • Assist producer, accounting department and client in the reconciliation of client accounts
  • Be responsible for account rounding
  • Work efficiently and effectively in a team environment

  • Maintain excellent communication, attitude and rapport with internal and external clients
  • Apply problem solving techniques to various issues concerning cancellations, claims, renewal issues, audits, receivables, carrier issues
  • Work with clients to become a ‘trusted advisor’ or ‘consultant’
  • Apply problem solving techniques to various issues that may arise with carrier and clients
  • Work strategically with sales staff to optimize relationships and protect client’s business
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with our partners, carriers and vendors
  • Demonstrate good judgment when handling complex issues

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or five to seven years related experience and/or training handling commercial lines insurance within an independent agency environment

Designations, Licenses

  • Must hold required insurance agent license and be responsible for maintaining such license through attendance at mandatory continuing education courses.
