Arcadis is very successful in Southern California with several marque projects and is poised to grow.
The Southern California Marketing Leader will be a part of a diverse and dynamic team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated, driven individual to join one of the most highly-qualified full-service water consulting firms in the country.
The successful candidate will be an accomplished municipal engineering leader and will demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the local market conditions and opportunities.
Using this expertise and knowledge of the Southern California market place the candidate will grow existing clients and acquire new opportunities with a focus on delivering solutions to meet client expectations and bring considerable business growth.
Role accountabilities:
- Serve as Account Leader for several Southern California area clients
- Strategically identify and acquire business with existing and new clients by working directly with clients to determine needs and deliver solutions
- Leverage your relationships and network with colleagues and clients to grow and/or acquire new client relationships and business
- Actively engage with client account teams, supporting business development opportunities, account plans, client relationships and growth in the Southern California market
- Negotiate critical issues with clients and develop strategic teaming partnerships and subconsultants.
- Advance positive dialogue with clients through one-on-one meetings; the design and facilitation of workshops; consultative activities; and other communication activities as needed to create the market momentum needed to achieve business goals
- Successfully develop, strategically position, and actively work with and mentor local teams in new and ongoing pursuits.
- Actively coordinate with other Arcadis business lines to identify opportunities, develop solutions, and grow our business.
- Report to the California Water Area Leader and actively participate as a member of the California Leadership Team
Qualifications & Experience:
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 15 years of sales/business development experience in the municipal water/wastewater market.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or emphasis in water/wastewater engineering.
- California Professional Engineering License
Key Skills and Attributes
- Excellent client relationship skills; including preparation and development of proposals and client management experience with a demonstrated winning hit rate and successful track record of exceeding client expectations.
- Proven sales success of at least $5 million annually
- Established southern California client and colleague relationships throughout the municipal market
- Demonstrated experience directing the full client relationship experience from pursuit through project delivery and growing services
- Strong, clear, and concise written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to travel once COVID-19 restrictions are lifted
- Experience is selling water/wastewater engineering services to the municipal marketplace
- Understanding of business operations and financial metrics including revenue, bookings, and overhead costs
- Experience with leading and mentoring a group or team
