As part of a multi disciplinary team, this position advocates for, initiates and implements all aspects of a client’s case plan concerning access to required resources, services and opportunities according to established agency standards.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related field or equivalent experience.

Minimum of 1 year experience working with victims of domestic violence in a shelter setting.

Demonstrated ability to develop, coordinate, document effectively and within due dates and timeframes as it related to the engaging clients to progress towards stability, with their case plans, and as it related to program /contract requirements and guidelines.

Ability to communicate effectively, perform crisis intervention, mediation and motivational interviewing strategies.

Ability to facilitate cognitive and trauma informed groups Familiarity with community, housing, employment and psychological resources, and the ability to effectively link clients with available opportunities.

Ability to perform community presentations, outreach, and facilitate related meetings, as assigned Culturally sensitive and able to work with a multi cultural client/customer population; ability work in a non-judgmental manner and foster positive growth/outcomes; and ability to work as part of a team and maintain professional boundaries.

Intermediate computer skills including familiarity with Microsoft office, excel and email.

40-hour domestic violence training required Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) preferred Candidates must have interest and demonstrated ability to: Work in an interdisciplinary community setting Be culturally sensitive, able to work with a multicultural client populations Work in a non-judgmental manner Foster positive growth/outcomes work as part of a team Maintain professional boundaries Exercise sound casework judgment and fiscal management skills Comply with documentation procedures Must pass a criminal background check (Live Scan fingerprinting) and drug screen prior to beginning employment Responsibilities/Essential Functions: Responsible for managing case plans of shelter program clients meet with clients on a regular basis for case management maintain documentation and statistics related to case plan and goals Act as liaison to DPSS, GAIN, CalWORKs and attend related meetings Assist with employment readiness and permanent housing Responsible for provision of shelter coverage and assisting with all aspects of daily shelter service delivery Performs client assessments Monitors house routine, structure and safety Compile and report monthly stats Input and update information on grant databases Responsible for advocacy on behalf of clients to DPSS, courts, other related outside service referrals Other duties as assigned
