MANAGER, BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE IS WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY? The Business Intelligence Manager is responsible for conceptualization to implementation of data warehousing, reporting and analytics solutions for the Enterprise Business Intelligence team. Day to day responsibilities include developing and maintaining project plans, working to defining business, functional and technical requirements and managing the execution team for development in an onsite-offshore delivery model. The BI Manager is also responsible for refining BI vision, strategy, and implementation methodologies to address shifting market and BI tool trends to increase BI delivery efficiency. Technology and Innovation Division As a member of City National’s Technology & Innovation group, you will drive, develop, and maintain solutions for clients and colleagues. This is an exciting time of technology advancement and innovation across the bank, particularly within our technology teams. WHAT WILL YOU DO? Plans and manages BI needs & development for strategic BI platforms – SAP Business Objects for ETL and Reporting with the backend of Oracle RAC database architecture on LINUX. Provides both strategic as well as tactical input on the Data warehouse architecture and data model. Evaluates, selects and implements new technologies and development tools for reporting, dashboards, data modeling, ETL design and development. Builds, leads and develops the BI team consisting of highly motivated internal and external (onsite and offshore contractor) resources. Responsible for managing a team of colleagues including workload, provide coaching and annual performance appraisal; participating in the selection of new hires and making recommendations for personal development, promotion and terminations; inspiring and leading team to perform at optimum levels. Plans and establishes go-live activities including ongoing production support and various SLAs. Interacts with business stakeholders and other groups within the IT organization to understand data and reporting needs & manage expectations for ongoing delivery. Represents the Bank by actively participating in outside civic and community affairs, business and industry-related organizations, and other professional activities as appropriate. Fosters and maintains good relationships with colleagues to ensure that processes are integrated to support expected customer service levels. WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED Must-Have 5 years of leading Business Intelligence teams 5 years of Finance and Banking industry experience. Skills and Knowledge BS or MS in Computer Science or a related technical field preferred. Supervision experience required with demonstrated success using information to drive understanding and business decisions. Knowledge of System Life Cycles (requirements, functional design, technical design, implementation guide, user help, and support or troubleshooting documentation). Hands-on experience working with Oracle 11G, SAP Business Objects BI 3.1 or higher, SAP Business Objects Data Services 4.0 highly preferred. Outstanding English written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to author and deliver presentations. Demonstrated ability to interface and effectively communicate with multiple levels of management. Organized, detail-oriented, and ability to multi-task. Strong organizational, planning and time management skills. Strong strategic thinking, problem solving, critical thinking and conflict resolution skills. Strong intellectual and business acumen. Strong leadership, partnership or consultancy skills. Ability to work efficiently with peers, end users, senior management, and outside vendors. Awareness of corporate objectives and initiatives. Compensation Starting base salary: $122,535 – $208,715 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
