Business Development Director, Licensing & New Ventures

n n nBusiness Development Director, Licensing & New Venturesn nn Evaluates, recommends and manages proposals for strategic business opportunities, initiatives, partnerships, alliances and/or joint ventures for Cepheid in both new and existing markets/technologies.Incubates and manages pilot programs across new ventures & leads projects teams as necessary.Manages term sheet development, partner negotiations, licensing efforts, and leads internal reviews.Initiates business development support to the broader Cepheid organization, including R&D, Innovation Teams, and participates in select strategic projects as necessary.Leads academic research partnering efforts, including R&D collaborations with leading institutions.Implements distribution and licensing agreements, coordinates with partner on alliance activity.Hunts/Seeks new business development opportunities at industry trade shows, medical conferences, databases, and through industry contacts.Contributes to developing the strategic roadmap with respect to new markets & channels.Prepares and delivers presentations to both internal and external partners relative to business development deals and strategies.Works cross functionally with finance, legal, and regulatory to structure successful agreements.Supports management in analysis of complex transactions including M&A activity.Works cohesively across the business developing group in supporting existing deals & pipeline opportunities.Career Experience & SkillsBusiness development experience in Diagnostics, Pharmaceuticals, Digital Health, Consumer Health, or other Life Science business.Technical expertise conducting life-science licensing deals & negotiating complex agreements.Managing projects with risk and complexity, quarterbacking new ventures.Ability to apply critical/strategic thinking to each opportunity & demonstrating the case for partnering.Must possess the ability to work collaboratively and effectively with all internal and external partners and stakeholdersWorking knowledge of product development, regulatory, and scientific affairs as it relates to molecular diagnosticsStrong presentation skillsAbility to travel domestically and internationallyTravel up to 25% Minimum Requirements:Education & Experience Bachelor s degree with 12+ years of related work experience ORMaster s degree in field with 8+ years of related work experience ORDoctoral degree in field with 5+ years of work experience.MBA Degree PreferredDanaher Corporation and all Danaher Companies are equal opportunity employers that evaluate qualified applicants without regard to race, color, national origin, religion, sex, age, marital status, disability, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or other characteristics protected by law.
