A Business Affairs Manager at MAL is a proactive, organized problem-solver who understands the big picture of a project and how best to address its demands to complete it, including finding ways to meet timing and project needs efficiently and collaboratively. They will collaborate with teams across disciplines to ensure flawless execution of brand ideas and creative concepts all while protecting the agency and client. This role must be familiar with business affairs matters as they relate to social media platforms as well as other media formats (digital, broadcast, out-of-home, etc.) and will be the dedicated lead on MAL’s social media projects and more…Summarized responsibilities will include: Daily project lead Partner with cross-functional Instagram pod team to ensure Business Affairs guidance is factored into every aspect of creative & production Manage legal communication + apply creative filter Draft and negotiate contracts, including music and image license agreements and freelance photographer agreements. Manage third party negotiation and licensing Ensure applicable union, clearance and global regulatory compliance Lead liaison with global Business Affairs network counterparts Collaborate with agency producers on production jobs with estimates, purchase orders, insurance, talent payments, etc. Work with third party entities to secure consent and clear rights when referencing their assets (names, images, props, contents, etc.) based on contractual agreements Manage, train and monitor Associate Business Managers on production, talent and licensing processes and systems. Monitor and ensure compliance with Apple & Media Arts Lab procedures and policies with vendors, talent, licensing and publishing. Facilitate and manage internal communication between the teams (LA Business Managers, international Business Managers, account teams, etc.). Requirements for this position include: 3+ years experience required, ideally in business affairs, social media, advertising/marketing, content production and/or legal. Proven leader with the ability to multi-task within a fast-spaced creative environment, working on several projects at once with multiple stakeholders Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to connect and motivate team Detail-oriented and organized team player with a proactive and positive ‘can do’ attitude Passionate about the social media landscape and of course, the Apple brand Occasionally willing to work non-traditional hours if needed. Proficient on Numbers & Keynote or Microsoft equivalents.Knowledge and understanding of the brand. Passionate about Apple, Advertising, and Media.
