Boston Consulting Group: New Business Growth Manager

WHAT YOU’LL DO As a New Business Growth Manager, you will work closely with senior BCG Leadership to grow one of the largest technology client accounts.

In this role, you will be embedded as a key member of a BCG account team to support the full range of business development activities required to both build and grow the client for BCG.

You will work at the intersection of business development, marketing, client engagement, and account management, with a specific focus on new business development and greenfield client growth strategy and execution.

You will serve as a strategic thought partner to the lead Partner(s) on the account, including the Chief Coordinating Officer (CCO), or lead BCG relationship partner.

You should be a self-starter with outstanding organization and communication skills, who is excited about working in an entrepreneurial environment, adept at building relationships, and has a track record of growing new business.

YOU’RE GOOD AT You will develop and manage a business development plan, focused on growth strategy, client and alumni engagement, and impact tracking and marketing.

You will become an expert on the client, identifying specific client development and growth opportunities, and ensuring strong account performance.

You will lead and orchestrate quality account teaming, identifying opportunities to team better, and ensuring effective communication and coordination of various Partners and consulting team members.

You will manage the complexity of a growing, geographically diverse account by driving the business development plan and weekly team calls, managing the business pipeline, developing the account marketing strategy, overseeing pricing and contracting, all in close coordination with the account CCO.

You will develop and maintain the client relationship map and ensure a robust engagement strategy for key relationships is in place, helping the account leadership drive the development of deep and personal client relationships.

You will track broader industry trends and changes to help the account leadership understand the broader market landscape, while having a deep and broad understanding of BCGs internal practice areas and functional topics.

As part of this, you will attend and actively participate in relevant internal conferences to stay on top of relevant industry trends and BCG offerings, and be the account lead on bringing the best of BCG to the client.

You will cultivate close partnerships with internal, functional supporting teams to manage the account, including the EA team to ensure coordination and communication across the broader account team.

You will seek out opportunities to scale successes beyond your own account to have a broader enterprise-level impact.

YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS) * 8+ years of working in a professional services firm with experience in business development and account management; consulting background preferred * Bachelors degree required; Advanced degree/MBA preferred * Expertise in client growth strategy supported with a track record of driving new business * Comfort and experience working in the technology sector * Experience working with geographically distributed teams * Comfortable communicating in direct client interactions * Strong verbal and written communication skills and entrepreneurial drive * Ability to work effectively with all levels and functions of the organization * Good organizational skills and effective management skills to manage multiple parallel tasks, ability to set priorities * Performed successfully in a fast-paced, global, intellectually intense, service-oriented environment with people at all organizational levels * Proactive, creative, self-starter * A quick study.

Demonstrated ability to identify, analyze, and solve problems * Able to prioritize, able to tolerate ambiguity * Exercises judgment in handling confidential/sensitive information; trustworthy * Ability to perform effectively under pressure, consistent management of changing situations with tact, poise, and patience YOU’LL WORK WITH Our business management and operations team members work to ensure that BCG is running smoothly, efficiently, and productively.

We are made up of executive and administrative (or case team) assistants, visual service artists, receptionists, facilities staff, and the team leaders and office coordinators who manage these operations and business management jobs.

Youll sit in our NAMR Client Team, which includes a team of Client and Business Development Managers that support accounts and/or specific Centers in build mode.

You will work closely with your line manager, the NAMR CDM Senior Manager, as well as with the NAMR Client Team Senior Director, and broader Client and Business Development Manager Team.

In addition, youll also collaborate with colleagues from across the organization, including Marketing, Practice Areas, Finance, and Speciality Business Units.
